Hi I have finally got round to changing the exhaust bolts on my 981, the cat to exhaust flange ones are a real pain... as everyone says they are. I used a g clamp with a large nut on the back to push against, whilst applying pressure and used a blow lamp to heat up the bolt and kept tightening the clamp till it goes crack! I also changed the exhaust manifold bolts and any other rusty looking bolts while I was under there, to save potential problems in the future.
regards Glenn

Sad to read this design flaw/cost cutting weak engineering carried over on an expensive car.

You did a wise move I think doing the lot!

Hi Glenn

I was thinking of doing the same...when you refer to the exhaust manifold bolts were they hard to remove ? They are the ones that worry me...

How old is your car ?

Hi Alistair the manifold bolts came out a lot better than I thought they would. They were not that tight to my surprise. My car is a 2014 Boxster. But as only done 6k miles. Regards Glenn

Had a garage do my wife's, OPC wanted daft money to fix their own design flaw.

Not had my GTS on a ramp yet to see if required for mine.
