Green algae around / inside rear light clusters

Washing the car earlier & noticed there is some green algae around the rear lights - I spotted it when I bought the car, but keep forgetting about treating it. Did a search here, but not seen anything about it mentioned; seems a common issue with a lot of Japanese car forums.

Am guessing it in on the outside vs the inside, but do want to tackle it at some point. Guessing some decorator anti mould spray & a toothbrush to attack it with?

Thanks

Had the same on my 981S which has the tinted lenses which I think are the same as GTS ones.

Anyway, I removed the lights (quick job and lots of videos on YouTube) and then went around the recess on the edge of the light with household mould and mildew cleaner and worked it in with a toothbrush.

all done and like new.

cheers,

adrian

Thank you for this, forgot I had posted it.

I've seen the videos also, just need to pluck up the courage - every time I have tried removing trim or parts from any car I either break things or the car cuts me!

Glad it comes back like new, never seen it on a car before. Should have done it pre-autumn rain season though; perhaps a next year job.

Amazingly my wife's Boxster with std lights shows up nothing.
