strange noise from rear of passenger seat.

Hi, my car's going in next week, it's already been in once. It's a 991.2. I keep getting a strange knocking noise when going over uneven surfaces, it's becoming really annoying. Anyone else had similar problems? I've put the rear seat backs down and seat buckle clipped in but still happening, I'm not sure if it is something in the engine bay.

Thanks

Danny.

Hi Danny,
In a similar situation. Back seats alternatively up then down. Seat belts etc. OPC couldn't find anything.
From reading other forums, it could be the rear side windows. The windows are fastened behind the B pillars. They need a small adjustment and rattles are cured.
Though I can now hear a metallic rattle from I think the engine bay. Sounds like a heat shield to me.
Joys of ownership...

Ok, thanks for that. Now that you say it, it does seem like a heavy-ish thud so something with a bit if weight like the window. I may get someone to sit in the back and see if they can locate. I've got the garage collecting it next week so I'll mention what you've said if they don't know. The roof lining seems a bit loose in the rear but not sure if that is just they way they are, first 911 :)

I sometimes get strange noises from the passenger seat too. Sounds a bit like ‘slow down’ but high pitched. I just ignore it [8|]:ROFLMAO:

Hi, sorry for the late reply, I’ve not been on the website much lately, ive started using Facebook more for the local groups. I wish i Could get notified of replies to my comments, unless I’m missing a setting or something. Anyhow it’s going in in November to have it looked at by the dealership where I purchased it from. Apparently not covered under warranty as was going to go to local dealership (not where purchased) and that’s what they advised. I did flag it with dealership (where purchased) shortly after purchasing so I’m hoping they‘ll cover it. I do think it’s the window. Annoyingly for such an expensive car I was disappointed to find I could move the window by hand. I wedged it with a rubber strip and it’s changed the noise to a squeak rather than a thud. I do think it’s something else as well and reading the internet quite a few people have had similar issues with noises, some not the window and I’m wondering whether this is going to be a long drawn out process of solving the annoying noises. I’ll update once it’s been into dealership.
