Oulton Park Gold Cup

I was wondering if any members had been allocated tickets for Gold Cup for the Monday 31st August which they didn't want now or were unable to attend on that date, having purchased tickets for the full 3 days the coronavirus issues has obviously limited the tickets. We have friends attending from Scotland on the Monday and would be nice to meet up with them. I have tried to phone the Porsche Club Office and sent an email. Restricted working hours like most businesses which can't be helped Give me a call if this is possible 01270 812825 / 07538 206327
Many Thanks

Hi Allan, Just returned home following a really enjoyable day at Oulton, the weather was warmer than we have been having recently and was quite sunny most of the day. Thanks so much to yourself and all of your colleagues at R5 and PCGB for making the ticketing and parking possible. We were able to have ‘distanced’ chats to many owners and had a couple of conversations with Albert Walsh, who had parked next to us. I did ask if you were around but he said sadly not. I also missed Martin Davies who emailed me to say he was going on Sunday. Lets hope that we will be able to get to at least a couple more events or motorsport events during the next few months before the dark days of winter arrive. Many thanks again, Kind Regards David Wood

Hi David,

Thank you for your kind words which I will share with Allan and the other members of the organising committee.

I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed the day and am sorry that I missed you in this occasion.

I hope that we can catch up again soon.

Kind regards,

Martin

Thank you for sorting the tickets to the Gold Cup event on Sunday, what a brilliant day out. It made a really good end to our weekend as we were staying in Chester celebrating our wedding anniversary.

Hi Tom & Carol,

We are delighted that all worked out for you both in the end and that you had a good day. Given the restrictions surrounding Covid-19 it couldn’t be the same as previous years, so we missed out on being able to walk round the pits and I don’t think that there were as many cars racing as there usually is.

That said, hopefully everyone that attended had had a good day and were just pleased to get out and enjoy an event once again. Let’s hope that things can revert to normal next year.

Congratulations and best wishes on your Anniversary.

Martin

Just like to say a big thank you to Allan, Martin, Phil and all the other R5 members for making the event such a success. A very different event from previous years. This was our first time out since March to any motor sport event, we had a picnic with friends ( all socially distancing ) and nice to meet and chat to other members .

Thanks again all

David

David,

You are welcome and we are delighted that you enjoyed the Gold Cup as much as we did. Let’s hope that we will soon be able to put on some more events like this for everyone to enjoy.

Yours,

Martin

May we add our belated thanks to all those on the team organising the club presence at this years Gold Cup meeting. It is one of our favourite events and Alison and I look forward to next years, when hopefully we'll attend in our new GTS 4.0. [:)]

I would also like to thank R5 committee for organising the Oulton Park Porsche display, we were there for the Sunday & Monday and really enjoyed the event. It was the first time I had been @ Oulton Park, and must say what a fab circuit it is, a bit like Caldwell Park, in that it’s a day out in the country, with some motorsport thrown in!

Hi Stephen,

You are most welcome, we are delighted that you enjoyed the Gold Cup.

We hope to see you again next year if not before.

Yours,

Martin
