Richard,

What battery conditioner are you running to keep this charged when not being driven?

Ralph

Interesting. Just out of interest, what's the battery capacity Richard?

Jeff

Edit: Should have checked online which indicates 17.5Ah / 50-65Ah (nom / Pb-eq). Nominal and lead-acid equivalent? I've no idea how that's derived!

Ralph, i am using the Nova 100l that liteblox recommends.i rent a garage space in London and the owner had given me access to a wallplug. I now need to adapt it to a Ctek style permanent set up to make It wuick to plug and go.

the app says that the parasitic draw is c20-30mA after shut down completes. I assume this is fir the security system.

once i am convinced that everything is running normally i will leave it without the charger fir a week and see what level of charge it shows and report back.

As a lockdown project i decided to try the Litebloxx 28 battery and carbon fibre tray. I tried the cheaper Antigravity restart battery last year. Although this works plug and play on US 991 GT3s it caused gremlins on my GT4. Antigravity’s customer service was excellent and they refunded me in full.

So the liteblox works, no error messages and the weight saving is roughly 19kg. Although liteblox recommend coding its batteries (as AGM but with as low as possible Ah setting vis PIWIS) from reading the posts from "Racing Erich” on pff.de - (Jens Ehresmann i believe) the battery was originally designed to run in a 981Gt4 And GT3s without coding.

Here’s a photo of the finished job.

The battery tray is "handed” and designed for a LHD set up. I modified it by carefully cutting the adhesive away from the mount for the air compressor box removing it and regluing. There are two carbon tubes too that need reversing. I cut away the adhesive and punched them to the other side using a copper hammer, then reglued.

the app that Liteblox has written connects to the battery and shows charging, voltage and temperature.

nice kit, but it is very exoensive so it should be.

of course i cant tell the difference in hiw the car drives before any of you ask!

Hi Richard,

How has your Lite Blox performed, and have you had any recurring compatibility issues that you had with the Antigravity? Is it really plug and play or are there a few anxious days when you hope there isn't a system shutdown?

Contemplating using one on a 987 Spyder - they are recommending LB28XX but say the car needs to be re-calibrated PIWIS3 although I was hoping to fit it myself and avoid this process. Any advice?

Its been fit and forget. It works abd when yhe guys at the workshop left the radio on and drained it to the limit the restart function worked just fine.

the only thing i ever notice about it is that on cold days and short runs the voltage can be 14.9-15v. Yesterday i did 60 miles and it was 14.7-14.8v all the way. The Liteblox BMS has a load protection at 15.3v.

its onky done a Silverstone track day so far but the Germans ate running them in GT4s.

i have had none if the issues that the early Antigravity had. I believe AG has revised its BMS.

Even if you do use the PIWIS you are leaving as AGM and just advance the serial number by 1 digit.
