Front Diagonal Control Arm ???

Nick,

Ignoring the ARB and steering arm, there are three principal components locating the front wheel carrier: the strut, the transverse control arm at 90 deg to the car axis and the diagonal control arm which runs from the front of the subframe to the transverse control arm, angled at about 45 deg to the car axis.

Have a look at the Main group 4: Front axle, steering for your Cayman in this link:

Hi Guys

Let me apologise first for asking a basic question, what does a Diagonal Control Arm look like on a Cayman S ??

Thanks Guys

Nick

I think so Nick, even though Porsche label it as the Guide. Rather oddly, the transverse control arm [item 6] is labelled the Wishbone. A translation issue perhaps?

In what context was it labelled the Diagonal Control Arm, assuming that it was referring to the front suspension and not something else?

HI Guys

The techie has mentioned the front diagonal control arm?......the top mounts are being changed at the same time

The diagonal control arm is in the rear suspension.

Ralph,

According to the PET the components in the rear suspension are the same as for the front [Guide and Wishbone] plus the Track Rod which is used to adjust toe.
