Hi all,I have just got a 2018 Cayman & not sure if there is a setting i can go into to have the radio close down after a few minutes when the key is in the ignition but at the off position. The radio stays on until i remove the key !!!..Can i change this anywhere in the cars settings ?
Thanks

I can turn it off yes. What i was asking will it turn off automatically with the key in the ignition in the off position[:)]

You should get a warning message pop up to say PCM operation is limited, which I think means it will time out. Not sure how long that is though and it's not a setting you can change.

Unless the warning only comes up if you remove the key - I can't remmeber what triggers it!

Yes i do get that cheers twinfan

Too clever by half these modern contraptions Mark. I'm ancient enough to remember a time (pre Jap-Crap of course) when you payed extra for a radio and even a heater ... you probably thought yourself lucky if they were options.!

This may be a silly question, and I’m not trying to be cute, but why do you want to operate the radio like this?

on other cars i have owned you can leave the key in ignition in the off position & the radio etc turns off.. it done this in my Macan. i sometimes leave key in ignition if its garaged etc & as the radio stays on i did not want to run battery down.....

I have the problem the other way round - stopping the radio coming on automatically every time i start the car............it always comes on very quietly and i go through the 'what's that noise' thing.

I agree. My daily has the same feature, but at least it comes on at the volume you last used. PCM is probably the least impressive part of the package. My Wife's Fiat 500 has a more advanced system (and that's not good). Can't hear it much at 7500k though :)
