996 Cars Currently For Sale

Thought I’d start a thread for anyone looking to buy a 996 at the moment.

A thread to share tips or any intel on cars currently for sale on Autotrader, Classic Cars, Pistonheads, etc

I’ve got mine for sale, but that is the reverse of your intention ??

As for buying, I’d Say the usual with any car regards records of work etc. With an older car like the 996 I’d like to see the work carried out by a specialist and look for a car where the maintenance has been done without cutting corners. Preferably a car with the IMS replaced.

I’m sure others on here will have their own ‘ticklist’ but that is the start of mine.

Yes indeed.
The usual checks and balances.
I‘m wary of the much vaunted IMS upgrade on some cars tho.
And wary of dealers who blatantly know an IMS is nearly done but claim it’s still got 1000s of miles left. Tired of that.
What are you selling?

Yes, and IMS is not a cure for oval pistons and many other potential problems. It all comes down to a £60k car which comes with equivalent running costs at some point.

I am selling because it’s the third car that I own, and it doesn’t get used enough to warrant keeping it. Although if it doesn’t sell I will not be too upset ?? I’ve improved it during my ownership to the point that it’s minor consumables now that need to be looked after.

I might be interested!
Email me tim at newstate dot com and let’s see if we have any common ground on that please!
