987.1 Key Blade Issue

Following my key fob failing due to a flat battery I needed to resort to using the Key in the lock to open the car. To my horror this also didn’t work!! Fortunately I was able to get a battery and the fob remotely works again, however the key blade in the lock has no effect and still doesn’t open the car. My spare key also doesn’t work other than remotely.

Any ideas on this one?

Thank you

I suspect the door lock mechanism has been changed at some time. The key barrel has a blade on the end of it which engages in the lock mechanism. It is very easy to assemble it without the blade going into the lock - hence your problem.

Hi there

None of the keys currently work in the lock, but they both work remotely

Thanks
