Dashboard beeping whilst I drive...

Hi all

My 996 C4s has randomly and intermittently decided to start emitting a series of beeps at certain speeds whilst driving. There are no consistent speeds it does this but if there was a range it would be from 10mph to 45mph during which it would beep.

The beeping is reasonably faint and seems to be coming from the dashboard.

It seems to have started since we returned from Europe and switched the readout from Mph to Km back to Mph.

I know there is the speed limit warning and I have set this to the highest speed limit. Unfortunatley it hasn't made a difference.

Any ideas befire the beeping drives me nuts!

Best

Joe

Have you got something that the car thinks is open e.g. luggage compartment? Mine beeps when setting off on a journey if I have forgotten to close it.

Thanks Nick

I'll take a look around the doors and boot and give them a slam before I set off - see if that helps and report back :)

If the luggage or engine compartment are open, I think there would be a warning light on the instrument cluster too. It might not be something open but a micro switch or wiring issue causing the car to believe something not properly closed.
