Can anyone advise from their experience, the best Pirelli Performance centre or tyre fitter in or near Berkhamsted. Thanks

David,

Although they're not a PPC I've used Blackboots Tyres in Chesham [ https://blackboots.co.uk/ ] on a number of occasions. They're very good, and have a Boss Touchless Tyre Machine which guarantees no damage to the tyre or rim.

Thanks for the recommendation Jeff

I wanted to keep same as fronts which are finely treaded. I have seen posts that don’t rate the Pirelli’s though personally I have never had a problem with them, although on track they did squeak a lot! I think I would try Michelin’s if I had all 4 replaced

No David, just for tyres on two or three occasions. In my experience they're a professional outfit and I think you can be confident that they'd do a good job on wheel alignment.

If you're in the area you could always pop-in to discuss your requirements and view their facility before committing.

I would agree that Black Boots are a good option in the local area. I have used them for tyres and, a few years ago, for a geometry set up. The geo was fine, it's not quite the full on experience you get at Center Gravity but it is also a fair bit cheaper.

I have also used STS Tyre Pros at the Maylands Estate in Hemel Hempstead. They are a Pirelli Performance Centre and offered a reasonably competitive price on Pirelli tyres. One of the reasons for going to them was because I have Centre Lock wheels and PPCs have the correct torque wrench to remove/replace them. They were friendly enough and had the equipmeant but had no experience of using it. I had to go into the workshop to guide them and ensure the correct process for removal and replacement of the Centre locks was observed.

I would recommend Joe at WiM / Black boots he use to setup my race car.
I go to him over Centre of Gravity for everyday use and race setup, and only CoG when I need full suspension system appraisal.

David, remember that if you have a Porsche Warranty you will need the same N rating on all tyres. Because the NO spec no longer available ,I have just had to purchase 4 when front tyres only half worn ??
I use PPC Micheldever tyres in Hampshire, they have a drive through system so nobody getting in your clean car with dirty boots ????

Another vote for Blackboots have been using them for a few years. They also have the equipment for CL wheels....they recently changed the tyres on my GT3 and due to Covid I was sat outside. They’re very through had two people working on the car and actually had three when checking and double checking the CL’s were engaged properly. Cup 2’s were not available in the UK and were on back order so they ordered some from France for me, customer service really is excellent and they are very reasonably priced. They put my winter wheels on my Cayenne this week which they charge £10 for.
