2020 Virtually a Concours
Gentlefolk, Start your (Tiny) engines!
So today is the longest day, from now the evenings are drawing in to the long dark nights of winter, and at the moment it is looking very unlike Dorset will have our traditional Concours and Family Day this year. So what to do?
I found inspiration from these:

The challenge is, to take an image of your car, or from the Club’s history, and recreate it somehow at home. Porsche Centre Bournemouth did something similar a couple of years ago as part of the restoration challenge – they took a promotional photo of a 924 and recreated it with their restored 924 turbo and created this postcard:

You can put as much or as little effort in it as you like. To prove the point, I took this image (of not the most auspicious moment in Bomber’s history!):

And recreated it here:

Sometimes simple is best – this took less than half-an hour, start to finish. It is no more than a rolled up towel, a piece of Scalextric Track, and a Dinky toy on the kitchen window sill.

I was going to use the real hedge outside, but it was raining! So anyone can enter this. Get the family involved, even if that does just mean stealing your kids’ Lego!
We’ll hold all our usual classes – Entry level, Meister Class, Transaxle, Visitors, Overall winner, and Judges Discretionary. Marks will be awarded for "Originality”, but for a different form of originality than usually expected in ours concours! Other than that, it is open to interpretation – for example, you could go the other way, and recreate something from the miniature world with your real car:

So dust off that old Tamiya kit you have had in the loft for years, now is the time to put it together! We will judge it based on the thread in the Dorset section of the forum, so start your entry with a new thread starting with the title "Virtual Concours 2020 – " followed by your own description. Start with the picture you intend to recreate.
Multiple entries are welcome. There will be prizes – not sure what yet, but we’ll think of something. Sponsors welcome!

Remember, Winning isn’t everything, for some people it is the only thing, but don’t let that stop you. The main thing is to have fun, join in, and maybe in the future we’ll be able to get together and see all your creations in the flesh.
Good luck!

Brilliant Geoff! Helped by the subject of course![:D]
Dead impressed with the drip tray too!

A photo taken on a trip to Goodwood one sunny day last October when about 30 Cayman owners met for Breakfast.

So to recreate the scene Karey built and painted a model of the seven garages.

And a look behind the scenes.

Very good! I am impressed! The competition is hotting up now! How is yours coming along Karl?

it's not!!

I might have to reconstruct the picture of the GT3 in the garage with the lights out[:D]

Here's mine (and George's) entry! Trying to find a toy helter skelter in lockdown, meant Peppa Pig had to do! Lego also don't do a 50 year old man with grey hair who hates all kind of funfair fun, so a porsche mechanic will have to do!
Most of you will know Tref hates anything funfair based, so last year we managed to get him to go on the helter skelter at the classics at Silverstone! He didn't enjoy it as much as George though!!

The only way I could this to work was to put the images as collage, me and technology have fallen out today!

Tenuous Porsche link since Ferdinand Porsche designed later Tiger tank turrets. Here is my latest effort!
Original picture is early Tiger 1. My model is a later version. As for getting model figures to match, that proved a bridge too far!
