Hi I am looking to change the speakers on my 981. I have the basic system. One door woofer one dash tweeter. No amp. Very poor sound. The sound in my transit connect is better. I have stripped car today ready for upgrade. Am looking to replace with Audison prima AP 6.5 in doors, and prima AP1 tweeter for dash. As anybody upgraded there car, What did you use and where you pleased with the result. Many thank Glenn

Thankyou Dicky. Have fitted the same speakers, with the recommendation of leeds audio centre. After calling in to pick up parts. Would highly rate these guys to any body, have something to suit all budgets. very pleased with result. Regards Glenn

Cant I ask if these are plug and play? I dont fancy splicing wires. Also how is the sound quality using the standard head unit with no amp?

Yes you just have to run the wires from the speaker (soldered to the + and - tabs or crimp spades, although the link wires are not multi strand so don't crimp too well) to the connector the loom plugs in to. The tweeters are a good snap fit too.

its a shame it requires soldering, the standard speaker systems are on boxsters and caymans are terrible. If it was easy to upgrade with plug and play type setup it would be a useful DIY job.
