Fail : nasty emergency tyre inflation (NOT ) compressor

A post from last year from CYMRO ....warned about that P O S compressor that comes with the car to reinflate a tyre .
Of course I read , remembered and did nothing about. A few days ago and a few weeks from the cars 1st birthday I had occasion thanks to a screw nail right in the middle of tyre ( rear of course ! ) to put the compressor to the test .

YEP ..same ...blew the fuse on the aux outlet . Tested on a spare battery and it will run, but cannot under any load and just stalls and if attempted to run on ANY pressure load wants to draw MANY many amperes. Another low tech , poor quality fail from Porsche in a 112K car
Now apart from having to source a replacement tyre and fit from my local Kwik-Fit ( my calendar expires before Porsche could fit this in for me ) now have to add replacement of that, the fuse, the one year later undone service recalls , deal with the niggling rattles a squeaks, intermittent dashboard control indication lights ( they don't exactly fall over themselves following up once the car is paid for ) . Of course this covid 19 must be to blame for all this right ?

Booking the exact same tyre ( to be proven when I get there on Thursday) price point and time slot booked thus far surprisingly pain free with KwikFit via their online site . I'll drop a foot note about how this goes with the much maligned service company.
They win so far, as they do seem to want to provide service and strangely not "prioritising key workers" who it seems to transpire must be largely driving Porsche cars judging by their policy right now.

Tyre sealing compound and electric air compressor must now be ordered as a £42 option for Y21 cars! []
Regards,

Clive

So..... The good news is that Kwik-Fit were good to their promise 1st thing this morning today and fitted the exact correct matching Goodyear tyre on the back of my car . Removal/fitting/re-installation all as should have been and no rim damage etc. The fitter took great care ( such as no use of air gun etc without prompting ) Their contact procedures were also very good , not that that was particularly concerning me, but shows a seriously run shop in this current climate .
All at a price point that was frankly competitive and more to the point now.....not next month as suggested by the wonderful OPC

I have used kwik fit in Bagshot for years on my 911s. My last 2 sets were better fitted than the factory originals.

I had the same prob as others on the tyre inflator too

Good tip for me on the Bagshot branch ( which for whatever reason was not on my horizon despite being about the nearest one to my house ) and just used the Farnborough one being near the direction of my work place...and actually remebered where it was .

Regarding the compressor, did Porsche replace with same type , and was that fine ?
