We hope that you are managing to stay safe, well and busy during these challenging times.
As you are no doubt aware, all PCGB events organised by the Regions, Registers and Clubhouse have been cancelled or postponed until further notice in compliance with current government guidelines, but rest assured that we are keen to kick-start our Region 5 events calendar as soon as it is safe to do so.
In the meantime, some of the Regions have started to run virtual meetings, using 'Zoom' video conferencing, to replace their regular monthly meetings, and to enable our members to get-together more regularly in a virtual world. We are planning to do the same for our next meeting scheduled for Wednesday 13 May at 8pm.
If you haven’t used Zoom before, you can join the virtual meeting by using a computer, laptop or smartphone, although you might need to install the App first. You will then need to add the Meeting ID and password. If you would like to join the meeting, please send me a personal message via the forum or an email to martinghdavis@outlook.com together with your club membership number and I will provide you with the log in details.
The plan for the meeting is to enable a get together during these abnormal times and for the first one to open up a forum for discussion and see how it goes. If enough people think that this is something they’d like to do, we can run it on our usual Club night on a regular basis. We have some ideas for future meetings, including interesting speakers, quizzes and presentations. It would also be helpful to have your ideas for topics that we could cover.
Similarly, with not much to report in Porsche Post on events, it would be good to know if anyone would like to provide any great articles and photos for our Region 5 section in Porsche Post. As a reminder, each month we are allocated 500 words and space for a couple of photos. We could run two shorter articles or one longer.
