Noise from rear on hard acceleration

Hi all.
I have noticed a "grumble" noise from the rear when accelerating hard whilst turning eg as you turn into a road, say from 10mph or so. Only seems to do it on hard acceleration and doesn't seem to happen if not "giving it a bit" and doesn't seem obvious when driving normally whether corning or not. I just did a fast launch from some lights in a straight line to check and it didn't do it then.

The car has just been serviced by a specialist and they didn't say anything and I assume they test drove it.
Is it possible that it could be a wheel bearing starting to go? sounding worse under load?
Is there an easy way to tell if I jack up the car?
Any comments appreciated.

Wheel bearings tend to be noisy when turning depending on what side of car - they can also be harmonic with engine speed too. The rear suspension is pretty complex with many bushes; tends to be drop links and lower arms that complain first but likely to be vibration or knocking.
