Hi all , hope everyone is keeping safe and are well .

Ive got a 981 cayman s with PASM and would like to lower the car just a tad ( 10-20mm ) only for cosmetic reasons really .

is this a bad idea ?

I have the approved used warranty .... would a set of techart springs void this ? or are they Porsche approved if bought and fitted by an opc ?

anybody have any first hand experience with the springs?

any help much appreciated

thanks :)

I assume you realise that PASM comes with a 10mm lower set-up than standard anyway? Would another 10mm make it look much better? - I doubt it. The stock spring and PASM set-up has been optimised for ride and handling, and just changing the springs for lower and (probably) stiffer components is going to upset that balance. I'd leave it alone, but it's your choice.

I've feeling that changing the springs to TechArt would invalidate your Porsche Extended Warranty because they're non-standard, but you'd need to have the conversation with your Dealership before committing to any suspension changes.

Thanks for the input Jeff :)

yes I did think this would be the case .... and yes aware that my PASM car sits 10mm lower than standard. Just looking to reduce the arch gap another 10-20mm which I’ve read the TechArt springs do . But at the expensive of voiding my warranty wouldnt bother . Also if no one has any first hand experience with the springs , I wouldn’t want to be the first !

I'm not familiar the TechArt offerings but if you were to take that route I think it would be preferable to replace the springs and dampers, since they'd be properly matched. I presume that would be a very expensive way to reduce the arch gap though.

Lowering the car brings with it potential ground clearance problems too, although I'm sure TechArt could supply a system with front-end lift.

Also, just to say, my OPC won’t fit anything other than Porsche parts. Does anyone have a different experience?
