Zunsport front grilles for the 991.2 C2S have recently become available;

Has anyone fitted them?
If so, how easy/difficult is it to do?
Do front parking sensors cause any problems?
Are you pleased with the result?
Do they affect warranty?

My car is a 2017 C2 not the C2S but I assume that should not be a problem. Correct?

Any other comments would be most welcome.

Stay healthy everyone.

It’s been brilliant
well worth it
took me only 10 minutes
and there are holes for the sensors- just make sure you order the ones for sensors
and use the porsche club code for discount

Literally fitted the outer grills to my 991.2 gts yesterday took no more than 5 minutes and was super easy.

They come with bendable lugs that just fold behind to secure.

look great too.

I have considered these grills I spoke to Porsche and they said anything that is not standard could affect your warranty (even adding privacy tint to the rear window!) so decided against it

I have a GTS with the extra centre rad and I think the centre grill uses self tappers which also didn't appeal maybe Bryan could confirm

I do agree though they look good and add a safety to your rads why Porsche don't fit them as standard like a GT3 I don't know ...

I only have the 2 outer grills installed as i dont have a centre rad.

These will come out as quick as they go in should you be worried about warranty.

However, it would take a seriously pedantic Porsche rep to have an issue with these grills, especially when they fit them to there GT3's.

Gents, I am just about to buy a set of these for my 992. As Dylan says, Zunsport offer a 20% discount to PCGB members.

Regards,

Tom

Excellent heads up, thanks! I‘d been wondering when, if, they’d do some for the 991.2.

Duly ordered ????????

MPhillips; Would appreciate you getting back to me with pictures and comments on how the installation went. The Zunsport website video shows some trimming around the number plate area (behind the number plate?). Not sure if I'm keen on doing that. I wonder how easy it would be to remove the grilles if there was an issue with Porsche/OPC when it come to MOT, servicing and warranty renewal?

Hope all goes well with the installation.

Stay safe and healthy.

Will do. Although I've only bought the outer grills as I have ACC. Ironically the centre cover would've been a lifesaver a few weeks back when I had a birdstrike on a pre-lockdown Sunday spin. Made a right mess of the centre cover and has broken the controller for the grill flaps. There's a job that'll need sorting when garages are back open. Sigh.

Well, they cover rather than replace anything.

And if I’m honest, I don’t care :) My car is coming up on three years old and I have no intention of taking a Porsche extended warranty. I’m planning on some Litchfield upgrades too, so it all becomes a moot point for me.

Gotta enjoy these cars, I can’t spend my time fretting about what might be :)

Sorry DandyDon, just realised I didn't get around to replying to this!

It took a sturdy pair of scissors to trim the lower edge of the number plate backing plastic, but it wasn't hard; a few minutes work. It's just to reduce the lip of the backing plate so it fits over the grill. The fitment of the centre grill itself was, like the other two, a doddle. It would be better if I didn't have ACC, as the centre screw Zunsport supply goes right where the radar 'eye' is.

I was certainly glad of the grills a couple of weeks back, when I had another bird strike (the joys of living in the countryside ??) on the left side. There were feathers all over the Zunsport — if it hadn't been there I'd probably be looking at a replacement radiator. Not cheap. So for me they've certainly been a worthy investment.

Anyway, here you go, one image…

Thanks for the update. Your car looks great (mine is black too but no ACC) so I must get going and do this.

Did you use the screws provided? I was wondering if industrial strength Velcro would work. Not sure if I’m keen to make holes. We’re you ok with making holes? If your car is under warranty would you remove the grilles if it had to go in for some warranty work?

Hi KC_69
My 991.2 C4GTS was the donor car for the Zunsport Grilles template (without ACC by the way) so mine have been on the car since June 2017 but removed occasionally to extract fine debris that does get through, straw etc.
Re your concerns about warranty, my GTS warranty was extended in June this year and all I had to do was remove the grilles for the warranty inspection and then replace them after I got the car back home, it's very easy and you should have no concerns in my opinion.
