Hi
Im after some advice, I keep getting what looks like an oil leak in between the sil and the wing behind the near side front wheel. I should have tool a photo but only thought about asking you guys after I had cleaned it off for the second time.

any ideas what it could be? It’s not wet, more like a greasy feel mixed with brake dust. However I have ceramics so I’m not sure it will be that.

If it looks like black vertical streaks just behind the front nearside wheel on the lower part of the wheel arch/sill then it's almost certainly washer fluid mixed with dirt..
The reservoir is located behind the plastic near side wheel arch liner, as happened with my 991.2 GTS, the rubber cap had not been installed correctly and so washer fluid would leak out. As a test wipe the area dry and completely fill the washer reservoir then leave the car for a couple of days and watch to see if there is any fluid leaking out on the floor of your garage, you wont be driving it anyway because of the lockdown.??

If that's ok and no fluid is present then it can still leak from the breather pipe if the reservoir is full and you are cornering fast, the only fix for that is to drive slowly or don't fill the reservoir to full, the latter is preferable??

If you get a puddle of washer fluid after the car has been stationary for a couple of days then you have the same problem I had, the reservoir cap is a rubber bung with a large pipe that leads up to the filler under the bonnet. It's quite fiddly but fixable by removing the wheel arch liner and then reseating the rubber cap on the reservoir, you also need to undo the single screw that holds the filler tube and that becomes visible once you have removed the wheel, arch liner.

Hi BigCat

Many thanks for the info, im not getting any puddles on my garage floor so it must be because the resovoir is full. Which im guessing it is as I havent really used the washers since collecting the car.

As you say being in lockdown means im hardly driving the car but I do need to nip out from time to time to get essentials. Like Nutmeg or Turmuric, for instance [;)]

That has put my mind at rest, cheers.
