Who has the highest mileage Boxster

I thought I’d start a top trumps for the highest mileage Boxster out there, so I’ll the game off with 99,831 miles in my 2005 Boxster S.

Who can beat that? I’m sure there are loads of you but let’s see.

Paul.

Unfortunately not me 2005 Boxster 2.7 with 16600 miles.

Current coronavirus issues not helping to push the miles up.

Stay Safe

Thanks to all who have responded so far but come on the rest of you high mileage Boxster owners lets hear from you. Can anyone beat Paul’s friend with 250,000 miles?

Mike, these cars were made to be driven, so what are you doing with it?

Richard, good effort but you have been trumped. Are you and Paul going for the lowest mileage award?

Keep the bids coming in guys. Just how many miles can these cars do?

Good morning all..... 2010 2.9 and this morning i'm 10 miles shy of 145000 miles........pulls like a train, sounds like a banshee and was driven hard this morning on my 50 mile commute.

Only had her since October, bought at 142k and i'm the 2nd owner.

Pics to follow once i've finished making her my own.

Awesome cars...!!!!

Si.

. Are you and Paul going for the lowest mileage award? No I am :ROFLMAO: Sept 2011 987 Spyder almost 10yr old 13.505 in fairness have had 3 other Boxsters in that time .

Not going for the lowest mileage award just have two other cars, three motorbikes and three road bikes to play with.

it just makes the ride more special when it does come out to play.😊

That’s very reassuring to hear. Mine has ”only” done 100,000 miles so should have a lot of life left. thanks for sharing.

2005 Boxster S with 146,000. Bought it with 145,000 two months ago and has spend a month in with a specialist having numerous issues rectified including entire rusted cooling system hoses changed, IMS bearing, clutch etc etc changed. Car will now run for tens of thousands more miles (fingers crossed) without thousands more spent on her.

It was but when the specialist looked at the oil that was formed around the IMS he advised changing it (including all the seals) as well as the clutch.

Sounds very wise and sensible to do them all at the same time. Was any comment made about the condition of the bearing once removed.

He said they were clean and still free running but the seal had started to perish and allow for slight oil intrusion onto the housing. The oil was wet so he figured it must have been perished fairly recently so I guess the car could possibly still run over 150k with the same IMS. Although there was a 997 Carrera S there at the same time with 65k and the bearing was in worse condition than mime. I don’t think there is an exact science behind the length of time an IMS bearing can perform but this is my 4th Porsche of the same generation and I have them replaced at the first service after I take ownership.

Thanks, that response was very helpful. I guess your right to take the cautious route and protect your investment. Its a shame Porsche don't just accept their mistake and make good all IMS bearings on goodwill and the reputation of the company.

I agree it is a weak failure point of these cars; but I truly believe Porsche cars are meant to be driven and not put in a garage (like some Italian brands). The enjoyment the car gives back when driving is worth so much more than the residual depreciation on a high mileage car. Although I might have a different opinion if I ran a GT car 😄. My advise to anyone is drive the car, enjoy it as you only live once and maintain the car as you see fit. Porsche cars are a joy to drive and the people who drive them are in the whole enthusiastically minded and think along the same lines.
