2nd Porsche

I have just taken delivery of the 2nd Porsche I have owned, a 2010 2.9 Cayman, with 40k on the clock. However no PCM manual with it and everything has changed since my 2007 2.7! any guidance on where to either download a manual, or get a quick user guide, as I can't even store the radio stations at the moment, never mind connect my Phone, or work out where I can plug an iPhone into for music via the Aux option?

Excellent link, Thank you, but this is for the PCM 3.1, which has the orange and white display on the black backgroung, mine is just black and white and has the CD/Aux button on it, so must be a different version! :-(

Think the PCM3.1 system was fitted in the 981 series, as far as I know the 987.2 series were fitted with the PCM3 or CDR-30 unit.

With the black and white screen it sounds like you have the CDR-30 system in your Cayman, worth having a browse online - most manuals are available somewhere ..

It's been a while, but here is the update;

I ditched the CDR-30 and have installed a superb Sony head unit with a built in d-Class amp, ordered a facia kit and fitting kit and everything was a piece of cake to do. Also have installed an under seat Kenwood sub-woofer unit under the drivers seat and 2 rear speakers, as it didn't have any. The difference is awesome and I now have Android Auto (also Apple Car play) and a wonderful sounding system, total cost was about £800 and worth every penny.

Looking to do the same on a 987.2 Boxster with CDR 30 and ASK. Can you let us have the details of the Sony head unit? Thanks

I replaced the original CDR 24 in my 987.1 Cayman and fitted the Pioneer SPH-230DAB head unit with fascia kit last year.

Gives me DAB, Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay functions such as satnav.
