******CANCELLED********

As discussed at Club Night I have been exploring the possibility of another long weekend in Stuttgart. We are scheduled to fly out from Edinburgh with Easyjet on Friday 16th October at 13.05 flight number 6915 & return at 16.00 on Monday 19th flight 6916. Flights are currently available from elsewhere, but sadly not Newcastle. As we will be relying on public transport, be prepared for some walking and waiting. The services in Germany are reliable and frequent, so normally no more than a twenty minute wait. On arrival, it's a very short walk to catch the train to the middle of Stuttgart and our chosen hotel is roughly a ten minute walk from the station. Feel free to book your own hotel depending on your own preference. I have pre-booked our hotel on a room only basis at present. There are plenty of places to grab food nearby and it's a very easy 15 minute leisurely walk to the more lively inner city centre bars and restaurants. Depending on the take up I would be happy to try to pre-book a restaurant nearby for us all to eat at if possible, on either the Saturday or Sunday evening. We only have a very small number of places left after Club night, for our Early Monday morning TaycanFactory Tour, so unfortunately this has to be first come first served, but I must stress those who have current R3 membership will be given priority. However, numbers are not restricted should you just want to travel with us or meet up in Stuttgart and enjoy the fantastic museums, or just check out what this fabulous city has to offer.

You will be required to pay A £50pp deposit which will be used to cover your rail travel, entry to the Porsche & Mercedes museums and our factory tours, to confirm your booking. If you are interested or would like more info please drop me an email at r3@porscheclubgb.com Please note, you are responsible to book & pay for your own flights. Before you do, please email r3@porscheclubgb.com to be sure we still have places left for our factory tour & the hotel. If you are booking your own hotel and do not wish to take part in the Taycan factory tour obviously this is not a necessity.

Confirmed so far,

Greg & Deb

Graeme O

Philip & Jacquie

John & Maureen

Dave & Amy

Mark & Sally

Simon & Elaine

John & Ruth

Mike & Michelle (excluding factory tour)

Please note our factory tour and hotel room allocation is now full, although I may be able to request another tour and more rooms if enough interest.

Hi Greg.....

Wow that allocation was snapped up!!...

U snooze u lose ha!........

We are in if you can get sufficient interest to get another tour organised, just let us know and we will fire the deposit over ok?

Kind regards,

Raj and Sam

Deb/Greg -checked with the boss and as suspected she is happy to take in the sights of Stuttgart (or just have a lie in) and let someone more interested in ‘...seeing a car factory...‘ have the place on the factory tour!

She’ll be missing out big time - it’s not like any car factory you’re ever imagined. More like a mechanised art gallery - you can’t fail to be impressed.

I agree, I think that she thinks she is taking someone else’s place but she also said ‘...it’s a just car, it’s 4 wheels...’ you have to remember she buys cars based on color and changed a Mini CooperS for a Seat Arona that is ”red” :ROFLMAO:

Hi Greg and Debs,

Following our chat at the club meeting we have paid £50pp deposit for myself and Sam (Sam ok to omit factory tour).

Will follow thru with booking the Edinburgh flights in the next day or so.

Is there a double hotel room available with the group booking or should we make our own hotel arrangements?

Kind regards

Raj and Sam

Hello All,

Not good news I’m afraid.

Just received a email from EasyJet saying our flights to/from Stuttgart 16/19 Oct are cancelled.

Im guessing Covid has driven numbers down and EasyJet are cutting potential loss making flights as passenger numbers fall away?

Here‘s hoping that Governments will get a grip soon so we get a return some kind of normality for next season?

Kind regards,

Raj and Sam x

Just received the same cancellation notice Raj. I thought we had a good chance of going but not to be. Unfortunately I was correct in my assumption of what was to come when we discussed the virus over coffee in Allendale on our last run out.

If you drive to Stuttgart then the Nurburgring is on the way . . . .

(Or Ryanair fly Manchester to Stuttgart)

Apologies for the delay in posting or commenting on this thread, but Deb & I have just returned from a cracking week away in the sunny South. While we were away we had an email from the factory confirming they were suspending factory tours for the foreseeable future.

We have speculated for sometime now as to the likelihood of this years factory tour and Stuttgart trip actually going ahead. Now both Porsche and Easyjet have made our difficult quandary much easier having cancelled our flights and tour, yes we could reschedule but I personally think the safest and smartest option at this time is to take the refund and look at our options again next year.

You must follow the instructions in your email from Easyjet to claim your refund or if preferred you can change your booking to another date should you so wish, please note this can not be done by me.

Can everyone who has paid me a deposit for this years tour to date please drop me a quick line at r3@porscheclubgb.com with your bank account name and details ASAP to allow me to repay your money via bank transfer.

Greg.

Greetings

Has anyone received a refund yet from EasyJet for this tip?

The hotel was quick to refund within about 2 days of cancelling. Still nothing from the airline though.

Oh and yes I have applied to EasyJet before anybody asks.....! [;)]

Ive had confirmation of the refund request but it doesn’t seem to have hit my account yet....checking emails it says aim to refund in 28 days But not to contact them until 90 days have passed (and I assume they hope you Have forgotten about it!)

Easy jet are awake.

An update on your refund

Dear Customer,

Firstly, we are very sorry that you’ve had to wait for your refund for your flight(s) for booking reference K1M3S7T, and that we haven’t been in touch sooner.

As you’ll be aware, the pandemic has hit our industry particularly hard, causing unprecedented volumes of refunds.

While we appreciate that the delay will have caused frustration, the volumes of refunds coupled with lockdown affecting our customer service centres have been a significant challenge for us to overcome.

Since lockdown restrictions lifted, we worked to process refunds as quickly as we could, and I can confirm that I have now completed yours.

Your refund will come via the same method you used to pay for the booking, if you booked via a 3rd party please contact them to receive your funds directly. The total refund should show as available funds within the next 10 days.

You don’t need to do anything else. We just wanted to say thank you for your patience.

Kind regards,

easyJet Customer Services
