Diagnostics adaptor

Anybody had experience with 19 pin OBD1 to 16 pin OBD2 adaptors? I bought one on ebay (the only place I could find one) but the Delphi diagnostics I have access to doesn't make a connection through this adaptor. I've checked the pin to pin wiring and it tallies with what I found on-line. Any info or advice as my car is not drivable until I can read fault codes.

Many thanks Dekker. I have ordered an adaptor from Tor Bergvill, I'll post on here to report on how I get on with it.

Glad you got it sorted. I'd be interested in the wiring of the plug as I have some issues with another adapter.

I have one of the Durametric adaptors that convert early round to later oblong plug if you want to check wiring continuity

I have an original Bosch Hammer but the wiring diagram it came with for making up the cables doesn't work. It is possible that there is a broken wire at the back of the 19 pin plug but I want to check which pins on the plug are the ones to use as there's conflicting views on various forums last time I looked.
I'd appreciate any help John.

There seems to be a lot of interest in the correct (workable) wiring for this adaptor. As soon as I receive and try mine I will report here with a pin-out list. The cheap Chinese one that I bought had the wiring as listed on many links that I found online.

2 ....BROWN.... 3
5 ......RED...... 4+5
4 ...ORANGE.... 7

It'll be interesting to see what the actual pin connections are for the working adapter.
