Upgrading Brake Pads (Pagid) Do I require new wear sensors/anti-squeal shims etc?

Hi All,

Apologies if this has been asked and answered before but struggling to find subject in search facility.
I’m looking to take in some track days in my Cayman R this year(mostly Knockhill) which is hard on brakes, so with this in mind I’m looking to try and improve brake’s temperature management and performance.

I’ve ordered Pagid RS-14 brake pads and GT3 cooling ducts but I’m unsure if I require any other parts (sensors, shims etc) that would need renewed when changing out the brake pads and suggestions for an brake fluid upgrade more suited to track work, any other advice, tips and recommendations would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Gordy

You may find the sensors require changing but you'll only find that out when replacing the pads. Generally they will not require replacing but depends on age. Never used shims.

Brake fluid, I ran Castrol React SFR but at c£50 per litre you have to be running really really hard to justify the price difference over something like Castrol React Performance Dot 4 Fully Synthetic Car Brake Fluid at £10 per litre which may be worth trying first.

bigger disks :)

the thing is the disks over heat, if you put in better pads the disks still over heat (now more so as you stay out longer) and then that boils the fluid.

sadly no short cuts if tracking a 987 bar bigger disks.

as for fluid endless seems the new goto stuff, or motul 660 if you don't want the spend.
