Has anyone done a factory collection of a 911?

Hi folks, I had a test drive of a 992 C4 and loved it. I've not placed an order yet. I might still look for a nearly new 992 C4S.

One advantage of a new order is that I understand you can collect your new car from the factory.

Has anyone done this? If so any comments?

Thanks for help

I've done it 3 times, which clearly indicates I personally consider it a worthwhile exercise.[;)]
If you can arrange it, you should certainly go as it's a great experience and provides some wonderful memories.
You can then drive up to the Nürburgring (if it's open) for a few hot laps to run it in! [:)]

Regards,

Clive

Hi Clive, I'm edging closer to an order. I just got this info from my dealer

"We have spoken to Porsche Head Office, you are able to factory collect on the 911 C4S from Stuttgart, providing its before the end of September. The cost is £1,500 for two people including flights and accommodation. You can also upgrade your hotel and flights. Once you leave the factory you have 9 days to get back to the UK and register the car.

The options for factory collection on the Turbo S are away to be removed from the configurator."

I will need to get a bit more info on flights etc. At least it's possible :)
