Porsche list Continental Sport Contact N2s in 205/55 & 225/50 x16 as Approved Tyres for the 911 3.2 Carrera.
Great, I'd like a set to replace my N0s. However, I'm struggling to find any.
My OPC couldn't and mst of the on-line suppliers are saying 'unavailable' or 'out of stock'.
Someone said that Continental may have stopped producing them. But, told there may well be unused sets still in circulation.
Anyone know who/where I could find a set?
Much appreciated

It would be useful if you could list where you tried and people can then post with sources that you haven't tried...

Can't recall exactly - My OPC's supplier said they couldn't source any, and I tried Demon Tweekes, Black Circle, Halfords, and perhaps a couple of other random searches.

My understanding is that there will still be some in circulation, but not held by the major suppliers.

Formula 1 autocentres lists them as available although they're not near the top of my list for care and finesse when fitting tyres. Or anything else.

Whereabouts are you located?

Are you sure you want to buy old tires for your car just to get N rating. Rubber degrades and becomes hard with time and tires should be replaced regardless of wear every 5 years. You are better off buying quality new non N rated tires than for example 4 year old N rated Conti's. There is a date stamp on the sidewall of every tire with the year / week they were produced.

Yes I definitely want new or recent (unused).

I currently run these Continentals in N0 spec - plenty of tread remaining, but date stamp is 2013, hence the preference to replace.

It's the rears - 225/50 16s that are proving most difficult to locate

Thanks Roy, I'm in Gloucs and London.

Still looking. As I said, it seems Continental have stopped supplying them, and the big on-line retailers don't seem to hold stock.

There will be split sets around the country, but it's proving tricky to pin them down.

any help appreciated.

Have replied in your Boxster thread.

Please do let us know what's available in N2 Continentals. I'm particularly interested in 205/55s and 245/45s but would settle for 225/50s if needed.

Morning. ive been on to continental and they no longer make them with no replacement available. The only thing I can get are the Pirelli Rossi n5.

OK, thanks for trying.

As I said there will be some still in circulation, but no one seems to have a full set - so a bit like searching for a needle in a haystack to find them individually.

Shame, because they are a nice tyre in 'N' spec. - although it's highly questionable if 'N' spec has any merit on a 30 year old Porsche.

Hi oliver, My last two set of tyres have been Michelin and I’ve found them very good, and made in Germany.

From what I understand it is because of our 30 year old cars Porsche adopted the tyre testing and approvals. Before you are tempted to fit non ‘N‘ tyres check with your insurance company - I’m a little surprised there hasn’t been more warnings posted as this is usually quite an emotive subject.

Hope you find the right tyres, Michelin were available in N a month or so ago. These older tyre sizing seem to be batch produced and go off the radar just when needed. As I found in our sizes for Michelin, proving elusive 5 years ago. Steve
