Cayman & Boxster Northern Meet - Date & Venue ***POSTPONED****

The new driving season is rapidly approaching and to make the most of the Spring weather register members in the North are arranging an informal gathering of Cayman owners (our Boxster cousins are also invited) in a central location amongst the Northern Regions (R3, R5, R7, R18, R22 & R30). Whilst aimed at register members in the North anyone who wants to join will be more than welcome. The date is set for Sunday 26th April

Members are invited to assemble at 10:30 - 11am for coffees @ the Wensleydale Creamery (https://www.wensleydale.co.uk/visit/) in Hawes DL8 3RN and a lunch has been arranged @ Tan Hill Inn (https://www.tanhillinn.com/ ) DL11 6ED at 1pm.

Tan Hill Inn was of course made famous (to those of a certain age at least) by the Everest double glazing TV ads and is the highest public House in the UK @1732ft. The routes from each region thru the dales to both locations are fantastic the most famous being the Buttertubs Pass.

Keep an eye on the register & region forums for members arranging to meet en route. We have over 20 members have already expressed an interest so clearly the demand for such an event is out there. To ensure we can inform the 2 venues how many to expect can you please register your interest in the comments.

We are also seeking volunteers to try and co-ordinate within the regions so far we have...
R3 - Gronk1967
R5 - Paul_Grundy
R6 - GJH_987
R7 - Davidporter
R18 - ?
R22 - ?
R30 - ?
Any volunteers for the missing regions (I know R30 is a longshot) please make yourself known.

Trying to cover such a big area and so many members is difficult, hopefully the date works for as many as possible & the location is about just about as central a point as we can get in the Northern regions....So, let’s make this happen!

Please note this is a social gathering of like minded owners rather than a formal PCGB event

Just been informed there’s already another Porsche run on the 5th April going to the Creamery and Tan hill and they have around 50 for lunch looks like we will have to re think

Paul

That’s interesting, Paul, do you know which group? Perhaps it would be worth going to regional meetings and checking out dates after that to avoid other clashes.

Gordon.

That’s a pain seeing as nothing has stood out and we’ve publicised across all the Northern regional forums too...

Lets see what we can find out and make a csll on changing the date...

Yeh....I can make the 26th April.

I’ve posted the revised date on the R6 Facebook page and will mention it again on Wednesday. it does clash with the R6 monthy run but it’s planned to be an early breakfast run that day so hopefully one or two Caymans might opt for the longer run to some new roads with me.

Great stuff, added you to the attendee list....you think R6 owners could use the regular run as a meet point?

Can’t make this one, unfortunately!
Sorry Gordon, I think Paul & I are starting to realise why there hasn't been a Northern register meet before...route sorted and then dates become a challenge.

Hi All a bit late to the party But another R3 member happy to join in :) 26th should be good for me also.

Paul & I have been getting questions from members of the Boxster register asking if they are welcome. Given the shared genetics of the 2 cars and the fact we are trying to generate interest across the North it seemed a no brainier to extend the invite To our Boxster cousins. We hope that there are no objections from Cayman owners

Good idea. Do you think this will be a reciprocal arrangement? Will we be invited to add Cayman Coffees to Boxster Breakfasts?

Hello there,

this is sounds like a great idea and I’d love to be included. I’m very new to the club, and due to work commitments, I haven’t attended any events yet. But this is certainly something I want to be part of. Also, the 26th is perfect for me too. Oh almost forgot, I’m r4.

Hi Dave that’s great we will put you on the list and keep you updated look forward to seeing you

Regards Paul
