I think any change from its original state at order time to increase its value is fraud,

if it was bought and ordered as a sport its a sport, if it was ordered as a CS regardless of options its a CS, any deviation from that to gain value is misrepresentation,

and at the end of the day we know there is only one true CS, the one with no options,

and to honest the differences between all the cars coupes, sports, and CS does not equate to the huge difference in prices, I can understand why folks do it, but it is wrong and should be corrected by us enthusiasts on here and else where and not condoned as the correct thing to do.

as the lady in the add states she was defrauded and basically ripped off.
 
Misrepresentation is a terrible thing to be on the receiving end of.. I feel bad for this Seller..

Do love the Red Wheels though, am thinking of going this way on my Sport..

Take a look at the description of the Black 968 (Club Sport or Sport, you decide) description currently on the Silverstone Auction website... that guarantees to confuse anyone further - even the so-called ‘expert’ sellers don’t know what a Club Sport is (surprise, surprise)!

No wonder the other grabbers are out there trying to make a fast (fraud) buck [8|] [:'(]
 
AFAIK if you check the VIN number from a Sport it comes up as a Clubsport. Porsche have a part to play in this confusion. The same happened with the 944 turbo S, the original run of so called Silver Rose cars are the real deal, anything else is turbo S spec.

but if you buy a sport peel the badges off stick some stickers on it and try to pass it off as a genuine low weight CS it’s wrong,

This is true, but if Porsche hadn't been on their arses and the 968 too expensive, would they have took cost out and put CS stickers on it. As for the low weight, isn't a bog standard S2 lighter?
 
I don't know the figures for weight but if it is lighter then there cant be much more than an average bloke in it, 70-90Kg

the true CS had a lighter wiring loom, as there are no heated seat connectors and any of that shizzle, the sport has all those for electric seats, heated seats, so must have the 1992 coupe loom as they don't have connectors for cruise I don't think

anyway the point was about jazzing up a sport which i have to point out is rarer than a CS as they only sold it here as such, I know the CS with Lux pack is available in Europe, but I have only seen LHD versions.

but the standard CS was sold all over and there are more of those than Sports, In fact according to how many left there are more Sports and CS than Coupes, and as for Tiptronics they are really thin on the ground.



 
No dog in this fight really. I just don't get the fascination for the CS. Aside from the buckets, there's nothing that would sell it to me over a Sport. And even that would need another 50-100 bhp to float my boat.
