[FONT=verdana,geneva"]COVID-19 update[FONT=verdana, geneva"][FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]We have had to postpone this drive, we will organise another date once we are able to, these small businesses will be facing severe hardship following the impact of the virus and will need our support when we come out the other side.

Obviously until the recent decision by the government that all cafes' bars, restaurants and pubs must close is reversed, this plan will not be viable.

Join us for breakfast at the Balloon Tree café followed by, a scenic drive to the "Spirit of Yorkshire” where you will have an option to take a tour of the Whiskey distillery located near Hunmanby before continuing our drive to return to the Talbot Hotel in Malton, also the destination on previous Wolds Wanders.
Details of this event are:
Start Point: ‘Balloon Tree Farm Shop’ on the A166 (Stamford Bridge Road) Gate Helmsley, York, YO41 1NB.
See Map Link: http://bit.ly/BalloonTreeStart
Breakfast Meet Time: 09:00 – 09:50am (opens at 9am and cannot be booked)
Run Depart Time: for those wishing to do the distillery tour 09:30 am, otherwise 10:00am
Run: The run will take us on some new and familiar ‘twisties’ to Hunmanby (about 39 miles), one point of note is the 7.0 foot road width restriction at Buttercrambe.
Mid Point: ‘Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery’, Unit 1, Hunmanby Industrial Estate, Hunmanby, North Yorkshire, YO14 0PH. 01723891758
For further information about the distillery please see: https://www.spiritofyorkshire.com/
See Map Link: https://g.page/spiritofyorkshire?share
Arrival: About 10:45am to 12:30pm

There is a coffee shop where light refreshments can be taken on arrival (or after the tour), a menu is attached and outlined below.
11:00am TOUR: Those wishing to conduct a tour of the distillery should conduct the following;

Note:
The tour includes a tasting and those driving will receive a ‘drivers’ pack of samples.
It would be helpful if you could add ‘Tour Booked’ to your entry if you have booked the tour.

We will continue our drive across the Wolds, passing the sister company to the distillery, "Wold Top brewery” as we drive towards The Talbot Hotel at Malton. Our table is booked for 14:30pm but we should aim to be at the hotel by 14:00pm and can gather in the bar before eating, our lunch booking is currently full, we have a reserve list however.
See Map Link: https://goo.gl/maps/MYu7SCUgCbm5fSwT9

The Sunday Lunch menu is seasonal, I will contact you with the menu once it is available. We will endeavour to pre-order our meals as before, the service on previous visits has been excellent.

Please sign Dan and me up for this Peter, it sounds great. We really enjoyed it last year. We will join you for lunch but not take up the whisky tour, not quite Dan’s thing! Mark will be away so he can’t join us.

Membership no. 142979

We’d like to book for breakfast, whiskey tour and lunch please.

Best wishes
Thank you Mark, if you are having breakfast as well as doing the distillery tour, please arrive promptly at the Balloon tree cafe, you will need to start the route at 9:30, that will allow enough time to arrive at The Spirit of Yorkshire for the tour.

It is only thirty nine miles but we allow one hour and twenty minutes to do the first leg to Hunmanby!

Hi Peter

Please put Sharon and me down for the run and lunch. We'll decide later about the tour. Hopefully non-Porsche cars will be accepted on the day?

Peter it appears that Mark has put the wrong dates in the diary and he is around after all and wants to join us, so that is 3 for lunch in our party. I forgot to add my membership number in my excitement earlier - our number is 48438.

Thank you Ian, "Non-Porsche" are you trying to tell me something?

Only that the Spyder is likely to be still in hibernation in May so we'll be in the Macan or Sharon's motor.
