Evening all,

After my recent purchase of the 6tt, I thought best to join PCGB and say hello.

I look forward to getting to know you all at some of the meetings.

Ali

Hi Ali, welcome aboard, hopefully catch up at a meet in the future, where are you based? Car looks great btw????

Thanks Gordy,

I’m based at South Queensferry so relatively well situated for any Edinburgh or Glasgow meets.

Just patently waiting for the light evenings/better weather to arrive!

I‘m in Livingston so just along the road. I find it torture not getting the car out much during the winter but salty roads not kind to car so I will have to wait till weather cheers up but definitely worth the wait????

Hi Ali, I’m near you in North Queensferry. Have a 997 turbo S, currently sorned but back on road shortly. Next meet I am attending is west meeting on Tues 4th Feb at Westerwood in Cumbernauld. Easy and quick run through if you planned to attend. Certainly be good to catch up soon.

Hi Don, it’s good to know there’s some club guys so close by - will be good to see the 7s when it’s back on the road!

Im still browsing through the site (& getting side tracked reading other posts) but seem to have missed where you find out about the various meets... could one of you gents point me in the right direction? I’d certainly be keen to pop along on the 4th for the Cumbernauld meet.

is there a WhatsApp/email group on the go??

Hi Ali,
You will not get info about meets on this forum. There should be emails on a regular basis from our RO to all members but he has just stepped down from his position with immediate effect.
If you wish to attend the west meeting on Tues 4th Feb, I could give you a lift, perhaps picking you up at the Dakota Hotel.

There are quite a few events through out the year. There are two main Porsche clubs in Scotland PCGB has a West and East meeting once a month I attend the west at the Westerwood on the first Tuesday of every month .TIPEC meet the first Wednesday off every month at Bo'ness Car museum a very active club and I am a member off both .Both do static shows and runs in the better weather there is more activity .Shows not to miss PITG on Sunday 17th May now in its 9th year the largest gathering of Porsches in Scotland (160+) and WOSC in conjunction with PATH at Knockhill on Sunday 7th June now in its 5th year and has dedicated Porsche area, both are free to enter. Tartan Tarmac have a meet on the last Sunday of the month at larkhall Go kart circuit all makes just back from it over 250 attended on a wet day and there where around 12 Porsche on display and a lot off Porsche owners who came along in non Porsche's .

Hi Ali, congratulations on the purchase of your 911, only another couple of months until we start to see an improvement in the weather. There are varied & well attended events to enjoy in R1 who are a friendly bunch. Hopefully meet up at one of the event.

All the best

Steve

Thanks Steve,

Eagerly keeping an eye on the better weather arrive, however the recent cold spell is ideal for me getting up North to do some climbing and keep my mind off driving.

In the mean time, ill say hello at one of the meetings if youre there.

Ali
