As of the end of this month I wont be a member of the region or club anymore, I have chosen not to renew after first joining PCGB in 2003

Several things have changed in this club and not for the better

So nobody from R22?

Albert R18
Peter R18

Is this R22 going back to a sub Region of R18?

They were involved last year at the concours? No changes.

So already sorted without discussing at the R22 Meeting and decided by you without asking the Members if they would like to have any input?

I look forward to your FULL events calendar including organised drive outs as obviously everything is in hand for 2020!

Hi all,
for the last few years I have been more than happy to assist and judge the R22 Concours and I would like to think there has never been a problem as an independent R18 Member and Motorsport Chairman, I have also been involved at National level.
If R22 Members are not happy with my involvement then I am quite prepared to step down and have no further involvement whatsoever.
I have always been 100% supportive of R22 without being negative about R18, I am disappointed by the petty squabbling so I feel that R22 Members can judge your own Concours without my involvement if that is your wish.

Hi Albert

I have always appreciated your support and have no problem with you being involved in anything R22 related. This issue is to do with Mike forward planning an event 7 months away without even discussing it with the R22 Members when there are plenty of more important issues to be resolved in the February meeting.

It may seem like sour grapes (which it isn't), but I personally feel that all the hard work that was put in to get R22 on the map in 2018 and 2019 has taken a backwards step as we seem to be going back to how the area was run when it was a 'satellite' of R18.

Absolutely concur with your sentiments 100% Albert.

As a member of 30 years standing, l have been involved in every aspect of the club, including national concours judging, establishing two Regions, held the posts Regional Organiser, Register Secretary and latterly as the Club Chairman. Indeed I was instrumental of R22 gaining its independence from R18.

This club is fully inclusive of all its members and each of us is encouraged to get involved in ALL Regions and their activities. Indeed my wife and I have done this with many Regions, including a trip to France with R24 Cambridge.

its all about inclusivity and there should be no limitations of boundaries.

I have no idea what the agenda is here.

Best of luck Mike, you know you have my full support going forward.

Peter

I'm not disputing most of what you have written Peter, I agree the Club should be inclusive and there should be no limitations or boundaries. But you would expect the 'local' Members to be given the opportunity to be involved in the growth and organisation of their own Region firstly with others invited to fill the relevant gaps.

There is no 'agenda' as you put it, I've just had a long conversation with Mike and we both want R22 to succeed but for that to happen it needs support from the R22 Members and those who are going to attend R22 events and meetings on a regular basis.

As for the independence of R22 from R18 I think you must have been in a different conversation to me at the Crooklands Hotel as it was Albert, Phil, myself and Chris Seaward who were initially pushing for the split with you, David and Judy against any split of R18. Yes you did agree to a trial but only after I gave substantial reasons for it to happen with little or no reasons for it NOT to happen.

Hello all

i hope I haven’t offended any R22 members regards the concours at Kendal that wasn’t my intention at all. Probably out of habit and it works having the usual team judging and scoring As everybody knows Peter and Albert have done a fantastic job.
martin made a good point about asking R22 members first I apologise and if any members wish to come forward and help please let me know.
