981 Washer Jets

HI guys, this is my first post so sorry if it goes into the wrong category. I’ve done a few jobs on my 2016 981 and would like to share at some point. I’ve replaced spoiler actuator, spoiler, bonnet release switch, removed inner boot and rear spoiler, replaced vent clips, refurbished callipers and a few other bits. I have a quick question though. I have the right hand side washer jet not coming up and spraying. The left side is fine. I am wondering if this is a faulty unit or something else? Do I need to remove the headlight to access it? I also have a busted low tone horn to check out but that’s for another day?! Thank you

Carl,

You'd be better posting your question on either the Boxster or Cayman forum (you don't mention which car you have - always useful..!). Maybe someone from Admin will move it for you.

The washer jets are fixed. Perhaps the R/H jet nozzle is just clogged, so if you have some fine wire or chord you could see if that clears it. Otherwise you may need to remove the front PU to get access, although it would be worth seeing if removing the headlamp or the front section of the wheel arch liner gives you access before resorting to that. On the other hand, removing the front PU would give you an opportunity to clean out any debris which has collected around the a/c condensers and coolant radiators.

Thanks Jeff. Sorry yes it’s a Boxster black edition. I had a half hearted attempt to check it out but only managed to remove the inside tube enough to be able to poke a wire down to clean it out. It seemed fine but still doesn’t work. Something for another day, too cold today anyway. Cheers
