I’m looking to soften my ride slightly , i Carry no weight and have been advised 29 in the front and 31 in the rear , is this correct or can these be lowered still to soften the ride slightly , 992 4s

Just my opinion but I have found that less that 31 psi front and 34 rear has too much effect on handling stability but I would be very interested in the opinion or other members too.

I'm in a 991 gen 1 - so not sure how applicable to 992 this would be given wheel size variation.

I have played around with tyre pressures a fair bit on mine and find that 33/42 is about right for me on 20 inch summer wheels. One thing I've certainly noticed is that fairly small changes front-to-rear-ratio-wise have quite a significant effect on handling.

generally much less at the front and I notice it in steering response, and much less at the rear and it feels a bit spongy & wayward at times
so I'd agree with tony warr - below those pressures he mentions (31/34) is pretty certain to have a not good effect.

One other consideration around here in wilts is the sink-hole-sized potholes that having a decent pressure in the tyres helps protect against a little. Tyre and rim damage is almost certain on very low pressure tyres with those.

my winter wheels are the stock 19inch and they run at slightly lower pressures and do feel a bit more compliant - but not by a lot.

Hi, I run my 991.1 C2 on standard 32/38 pressures as recommended on the door pillar. Not found any problems with handling or ride etc.
