Dash Cam hard wire

Any hints on hard wiring a dash cam into a 996.1 ?
i have the hardwire kit , just after any tips on which fuse to use ( it recommends the lighter socket fuse ) also the easiest grounding spot and cable route.

I assume you want to put the dashcam somewhere near the rear view mirror. Take a look at this DIY, where you will find how to run a cable from the mirror housing down the A pillar, to the fuse panel area: https://www.porscheclubgb.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=232874

On early 996's the lighter socket is only live while the key is in the ignition. That may suit you, but two other options are:
Fuse E6 - Permanent Live
Fuse E8 - Ignition switched live
