importing US LHD to UK

hi guys,
New to London and the club. I'm planning to import my LHD 993 from the US to London and need to change the tail lamp lenses from red to amber. Any suggestions on where to get them used? and any suggestions on a company to import the car?
thank you

I imported a 993 in 2001 which I had owned in the US for around 3 years. At that time I had to prove US ownership for over 6mths to avoid paying UK duty. In addition to normal lights, from what I remember, I had to have rear fog lights set up (loom needed upgrading) and front side repeaters. I also had to have the car taken through the full UK Type Approval test which was around half a day and very detailed (eg including checking date and specification of tyres) and effectiveness of both demisting efficiency, and braking without using Servo!. My car passed but it did take some time to book as I think I had to go to one of the commercial vehicle testing centres.
These requirements may now have changed as there are many cars imported, but it is worth checking. My US 993 (1997 Varioram) also had different emmission control equipment from the European spec cars that did cause me a few problems as the car became a bit older as none of the UK specialists I tried (and certainly not Porsche) had ever seen the spec before and when I needed some new parts at one point I ordered them direct from the US as they were not available in the UK. The US cars are also set up to run higher than the European models so I did upgrade the suspension on mine.
Just some quick points to consider, but overall definitely worth doing when I did it

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve upgraded the suspension with pss10 so it rides a little lower than RS spec.

Scaramanga, how do I get in contact with you? Interested in the used ambers
