997 gen 1 sat nav

hi David

I sent you a reply about 20 mins ago - not sure if it went to you - if it did you dont have the attachments. I had difficulty uploading the scanned docs to you. If you did get the document let me know and if possible give me your ordinary email address as I have everything scanned to send you. My ordinary email address is joannaevans100@googlemail.com.

We have a 997 Gen 1 Targa4S bought in Feb this year - had the same problem and have the instructions for you how to get the information you want.

Sorry for the computer idiot here

Jo ( sending the information for David)

Seriously, just save your money and buy a TomTom. The difference you'll have left for fuel will be money much better spent.

I to only have 5 digit post code so i pressed Source +info and get
Verbund-Version PCM3. spoke to Tonbridge Porsche they want £380.00
to give 7 digit code.
997-2-S 2008 gen 2. Garmin it is then.

Why not just use Waze or Google Maps on your phone (both free) and use a magnetic phone holder clipped to the air vents? Who still wants a big lump of plastic attached to their windscreen?

I’ve updated the dvd and am using google maps on my phone which I didn’t realise is really really good and constantly updated. Also discovered the map button on the console, didn’t realise it was there for8 months!

If you think Google maps is good Waze is much better, it shows real time traffic and road closures. Its also free. It's the go-to app used by all Uber drivers for a reason.

I find Waze good but annoying as it interrupts music/radio via Bluetooth. It would not be too bad save that it takes an age to pause the music, deliver the instructions, and finally release the connection. Initially it made for some mildly amusing moments when listening to a radio play when a character might say "and then she told me”.... only for Waze to chip in with "speed camera reported ahead”

Using the phone’s speaker risks missing the instructions and being distracted looking at the phone’s screen.

Although Waze is owned by Google (what isn’t) I have found some difficult to locate places more accurately using Google search into Google maps.

Are they the same Uber drivers frequently pictured on Twitter going the wrong way in London streets much to the delight of black cab drivers. ??
