Most off you will have had an email from our RO informing us that 2 Directors are visiting Scotland next week and plan on visiting both West and East. The West coast membership as you all know meet at the Westerwood Hotel Cumbernauld on the first Tuesday off every month ,it now turns out the Directors are now coming along to the Westerwood on Wednesday night ,so would it not make common sense that we all attend the Wednesday night instead ,it is important that we have a decent show of members attend to go over any issues you would like to say regarding the direction the West coast takes ...I would have thought that the RO once he receiving the directors travel arrangements would have sent out a mail chimp informing the members that for one night only we could switch our meeting ,it could have been sent out at the same time as the email informing us off the visit .

I agree with you Brian. i will be along on wednesday and not Tuesday. I really cant figure out why our RO decided not to change the club night.

I'm a bit confused. If the RO had changed the club night to suit this visit without consulting I would guess there would be backlash at that too, be seen as interfering? At least this way there's a chance to go to neither/either/both as members want, and everyone has had the same communication via r1@porscheclubgb.com?

The team from the clubhouse don't often get the chance to come up to Scotland so I guess that the benefit from having them far outweighs a bit of inconvenience with by having the two nights back to back for a one-off occasion?

I will be at Clubnight On Tuesday, I have been asked to arrange an area or Room for the Wednesday meeting.
i will be attending the meeting on Wednesday.

George, regarding the changing of Clubnight without prior consultations, East meeting has been changed to a Thursday? Then the Venue has changed for Visit from Club Officials?

Also we were given just over a weeks notice of these changes and Visit?

And you’re confused?

Alan.

Hi Alan - I'm pretty sure that our RO tried to have the two Clubhouse officials change their travelling arrangements to Scotland, such that they would attend the usual West meeting on a Tuesday - but Donald was advised by the Clubhouse that their meeting was to go ahead on the Wednesday, regardless. (The Clubhouse decision didn't make sense in my opinion - but the situation is as it is - and as George from R2 says, having the two meeting dates in your part of the Region does give members the opportunity to attend one or both, as preferred).

As to the change of venue for the East to OPC Edinburgh for the meeting with the Club's officials, this was again stipulated by the Clubhouse - but actually I think it will work well. No-one from the East has raised any objections as far as I'm aware!

In all of this, I know that Donald has been frustrated by the lack of definite travel and meeting arrangements, and even discussion topics emanating from the Clubhouse duo - all of which has remained unclear until very recently. I don't think he could have done any more in the circumstances.

I'm looking forward to our meeting on Thursday, and I hope that your meetings tonight and tomorrow go well.

Cheers, John

Not sure why you addressed me in your response John, my point was only in reference to George stating the RO wouldn’t change Tuesday night meeting to Wednesday without prior consultation, but that’s what has been done by changing East meeting to a Thursday going forward.

Alan
