In the Audi dealership recently with my wife's TT and saw a new TT RS in the showroom. Absolutely gorgeous thing, interior seems nicer than the 718, lovely big wheels and massive brake callipers etc. Then onto power output- 400 bhp from 2.5 litre. That makes the 350 bhp in the 718S look a bit sick!!
Must say that my 718S goes like a train and will probably outhandle the TT but wouldn't it be nice with 400bhp????????
Is it a case of it being held back to keep below the 911 do we think??????

Chris, they are quick cars, we had one of the earlier TTRS’s in the previous model style with the twin clutch Stronic gearbox and it was a flying machine, no problem with handling as it has four wheel drive as well, the latest model you have seen has slightly more power and the slight body changes when it had a facelift and introduced the virtual cockpit.

Release the bhp from your 718S with the boys at Lichfield
theyll get well over 400 for you

Yes Tim, Linda's is the 1800 sport and it's quite quick enough. Was going to get the 2.0 but not necessary.????????

Dylan, would love to do that but still under warranty!!????

BHP figures are deceptive. It's the way the power is dynamically transmitted that counts. On the track, the 718 Cayman S PDK (350bhp) also the GTS PDK (365bhp) will run rings round any Audi TTRS. That's a fact I know from my own track day experiences with both my 718 Caymans.

Audis have the engine ahead of the front axle line, while Caymans are mid-engined, and are in a different league dynamically. Four wheel drive transmissions are heavy and energy sapping. The 400bhp TTRS will have lost over 25% of that power figure by the time the power reaches the wheels.

Thanks for that Brian- feel a lot happier now. ??????????
It is as I thought though. In Germany last year tootling along behind an Aston Martin V12 Vantage ( in our group) in the twisties and he said he couldn't shake me off- I didn't even realise he was trying and that was in the 987S not the 718S!! He said he was virtually on the edge and every time he looked back there I was glued to his boot lid???????????? Think I was on the brakes most of the time.????????
