PCGB Region 13 announced as "Region of the Year”

At the annual Porsche Club Great Britain Awards Dinner, held at the Hanbury Manor Hotel, near Ware, Region 13 was announced as "Region Of The Year 2019”.

Very well done Steve and Helen, a real team effort with lots of help from Pat Henson, Simon Hopcroft, Ian Crosskell and yours truly.

Unfortunately Steve and Helen could not attend, so Wendy and I had the pleasure of accepting the trophy on behalf of the region.

The theme this year was Le Mans, with all the tables named after corners on the Le Mans circuit, and we were honoured to have David Piper, Formula 1 and Porsche 917 racing driver on our table.

A great result for the Region, but it is the members that make our efforts so worthwhile.

Congratulations to everyone in R13, we were ecstatic in R3 to win the Region of the Year award last year, so I know how much it means to everyone involved to get your hands briefly on this prestigious trophy.
It's great to be recognised when all your hard work and effort eventually pays off so enjoy milking it all year, well done, you deserve it.

Well done Steve, Phil and team. Well deserved and all down to your hard work on our behalf. Thank you!

Thank you everyone for your kind words, Steve and I couldn't have done it without the help of Pat Henson, Simon Hopcroft and Ian Crosskell.

Actually, awards aside, it is the members that make it all worthwhile.

Without their support, there would be no point in organising anything!

I would like to thank Phil for picking up the award on behalf of our region and at the same time apologise for me not being able too as it is something I would have liked to have done but Helen wouldn't have been to pleased if I had cut our cruise short although I did think about it.
The award comes after nearly 7 years of work by myself and Phil with continued help from Patrick, Simon and Ian and many more but none of this would have been possible without the continued support of you all and for this we are very thankful of.
Where next?, well that is all down to the regional members but for now let's look forward to the remaining events of the year, starting this Sunday with a breakfast run to Broadway tower and next weekend to our WOTY.
Regards
Steve

Thank you, but it was your region winning last year that made us think and look at our own region and how we could take it to a better level.

Very high praise indeed, I am pleased R3 winning this last year had a positive effect and motivated you guys to rival us and nick the trophy this year, I also hope your win will have the same positive effect on others for next year.

As you say none of this would be worthwhile or even possible without the massive help, support and enthusiasm of many of our fantastic members. That said don't forget to take a minute or two, to enjoy what this signifies; this accolade is testament to you and all your team's hard work and the efforts that were undoubtedly paramount to you guys winning this proud achievement.

I know most of your members will happily recognise and appreciate that although it's the production team who work tirelessly in the background and make great things happen, they as the supporting cast, are the ones who really enjoy the rewards first hand, so like them may I wish you every success in the future. (Just not too much, we want that trophy back at some point![:D])

Well deserved recognition for the time and effort everyone on the team puts in to organising some great events and being such a welcoming region.

Well done to the entire team behind the regions success.
Even from the outside, you can see how active and interested the region is.
