Faulty sachs clutch kits?

I need to order a clutch kit fairly promptly but I'm led to believe that there have been some issues with these of late? Has anyone else heard mention of this?

I bought one for my S2 a few years back...about when Sachs catalogue started listing only 1 clutch for Turbo and 1 clutch for normally aspirated (IIRC the previous catalogue listed a separate kit for S & S2 vs normal) . Seems a bit "soft" compared to what came out but the release bearing was pretty much seized so no real comparison but the spring arrangement on the hub was different - three springs with small spring inside larger spring compared to individual springs 3 large and 3 small diameter. Seems OK but not heavy duty and seemed to take a while to "break in" so I would recommend deglazing/refinishing the flywheel.
What have you heard and from whom?

The place doing my clutch suggested there maybe/had been an issue with sachs quality of late. I've ordered a kit from design 911 as they were quite a bit cheaper and had then in stock. The car has jumped the queue (of 993s mainly) so is now immobile on a lift so I need to help getting it shifted.

Did they mention what the quality issue was? I recently put a new Sachs Clutch in my turbo (from design 911), it seems fine/had the number of springs someone on here told me it should.
I hope there isn't an issue as I'd hate to do it again in a hurry.
Just been to Wales and back today and it was fine, granted no drag strip starts but my car does produce a fair amount of torque being a 3 litre.

I fitted a 6 paddle clutch plate with uprated diaphragm spring pressure plate that was supplied by Augment Automotive and I fitted it. Not such a bad job. Possibly a bit harsh for normal road use but I have abused it for a whole season of sprints and hill climbs and never a hint of slip with my supercharged engine. They also do a slightly less expensive organic plate which I believe they have used on road and rally cars. IIRC the cost was less than buying a Sachs kit from ECP. J
