Cuple of questions questions guys if anyone can help please ?

1) Is it possible to send a destination to the pcm on the car remotely using the Porsche connect app on a mobile ? I Can't quite see how its done.

2) The data on my connect app on y mobile does not seem to sync up with the trip data on the car? It also does not seem to update immediately eg I did a journey this morning for about 20 miles but this doesn't seem to have updated on my app at all and the last recorded trip data on the app says 7.02pm from yesterday ( I didn't actually finish using the car until 9pm last night either ?).

Any guidance would be much appreciated cheers !

Tony

I am also yet to figure out how to send a route to the nav in the car . About that trip data not updating on Porsche connect .....seems a shoddy ( very shoddy ) delivery of this part of the product. It is almost random hit and miss on my car .
Personally I think we should be asking for money back as the telemetrics simply does not work as described and thus is surely failure to deliver a product paid for . on that, no excuses about Vodafone fault, its sold to me ( in my case ) by Porsche so they are the responsible seller. Ok maybe a bit aggressive approach , but you wouldn't put up with a non working product in other circumstances .

Hi Tony

Re your question 1: Yes it is. When logged in to the app you should have 3 options at the bottom: Explore, My Car, My Account. Touch in to Explore. In the Search box at the top type in the destination you want, hit return, this should bring up the route on a map and in a red box you should see the option Send to vehicle.
One tip - when in your car and if you get a dialogue box about saving new destinations to the online memory, select cancel or no. You should find newly uploaded destinations under Favourites in the PCM navigation.

Question 2. - I have the same issue. I ran some tests with Porsche Connect in Germany earlier this week and everything is working but there still is a delay (sometimes). Things you can try: 1) in the car under Settings, Porsche Connect, disable remote access, wait a couple of minutes and re-enable; delete and re-install the app; check your Porsche Id is logged in in the vehicle. That said I recommend logging the issue with Porsche Connect because the more people reporting it might lead to further investigations (I did it online through the Contact Us option and they responded within 24 hours).

On the whole it has been working fine for me until the end of August. I updated to the latest Apple IOS 12.4.1 but apparently that is not the problem.

Good luck.

There are faults with the trip information in the car with information to your Porsche connect app and your my Porsche web portal. I have had a ticket open with Porsche Connect in Germany for 4 months on this and they still have not sorted out. You will find if you change from MPH to KMH in the car before you switch off the ignition it works. You can then change back to MPH until the end of your next journey. I have been told now it has been passed on to the software developers.

Once you end your journey, there is a 2 hour gap when you can do this before the last journey information disappears.

I regards to sending destinations from the Porsche connect to the car, it works. The only time it does not work is from certain addresses entered in the apple address app if not entered correctly blocks the system, and the app has to be deleted and re installed. Porsche in Germany are working on this error as well.

Have been told by Porsche connect for cars that experiencing the trip data problem to get in contact with them and get a ticket raised. Apparently I M the only one that has a ticket raised for the issue. it Might help to solve the issue. Have just completed a 20 day driving trip in Spain and worked correctly on KMH. Once home and back to MPH it faults again

Hi Tony, I have managed to send a destination from the app. I think all you have to do is go to the 'Explore' tab on the app, get the destination there and click send to vehicle. I think it also works if you add it as a favourite on the app. Then when you're in the car go to Nav and favourites... There is also something about the favourites and destinations when you get the settings up for your Porsche ID in the Connect menu of the SET menu, think that has to be enabled in there somewhere...

I have had LOADS of trouble with the Connect Services in my 992... Any chance you could post a screenshot of your app showing your car on the 'My Car' screen of the App? I've had my connect computer changed in my car and now the car that is displayed on the App screens is just a generic car... i.e. wrong colour, wheels, seats, no glass sunroof... My dealer seems to doubt me when I tell him it showed a good representation of my car before the computer swap!

Paul, see attached. This reflects my car, e.g. carbon fibre roof, rims, etc.

There are clearly issues with the trip data as described here, I will raise a ticket as well...the problem is that for me it is intermittent and have not been able to track down why this happens. The one setting that I changed, and which helped with many of the sync problems was to change the Porsche ID settings:

1) From the main screen selected the Porsche ID settings
2) Selected Settings on the next screen (which should show your profile)
3) Selected Automatic login via Bluetooth, and selected my phone

Basically the Automatic login via driver profile often did not work, and I tried different combinations of settings but it did not improve. The login via Bluetooth works every time and so sending routes to the car always works etc.

I have been unable to use the "car connect" in the app or via the web portal: it always asks me to enter the pairing code which has been done numerous times but still will not link.
Neither the dealership or porsche connect have been able to solve the problem.

Disappointing on a new car and poor from porsche. Maybe they should pay BMW for their software, it worked fine on my M4!

Have you tried pairing your phone with the PCM rather than the other way around - this sometimes works? [;)]

Clive

Those are for different battery types though, aren't they?

No, the top one is for the ctek XS lithium and the second for the lithium mode on the porsche charger.

Dave.

Phone Porsche connect up and get them to raise a ticket. They told me last week, they have not received many complains about this, I expect due to customers not using the facility.

Thank you for sharing this information! It's quite easy to sat navigation and Porsche Connect app. It is also possible to download other navigation mobile apps and use them via your car's multimedia system. https://rocketech.it - here you can read more about it.
