Porsche motorsport devision previous owner! Should I worry?

I'm thinking of buying a 991.2 C4GTS from an OPC. It looks as it should but its previous owner was the Porsche motorsport devision. They assure me it's not been used on track as this would say something else and has been used by management working in this sector.
Anyone had an experience or thoughts?
Thanks.

If it's been looked after, why does it matter that it's been on track?

You know Porsche are sports cars, the engineering founded in motorsport, right? :ROFLMAO:

Depends on whether you are planning to have a Porsche Warranty.
Ask for the rev range report (which is part of the 111 check). There are 6 categories - anything in 1 or 2 should be ok but any ignitions in over-rev ranges 3 to 6 will be at the discretion of Germany, not Porsche UK as to whether a warranty is given (and I also think they insist on a boroscope inspection for anything in 4 or above). I passed on an ex Silverstone Experience Cayman GTS at an OPC for exactly that reason. Warranty or not, I was not keen on a car that had been run at over 8,000 revs......

If it is a PDK, Porsche ignore any over revs for warranty acceptance. Presumably on the basis that it can't happen so they must be erroneous readings.

If you are worried, would the next buyer worry too?

I agree with both statements above;

it's a sports car, so should be driven, and many drivers in and outside of the club, track their cars.
and, if it comes with a warranty, from an OPC, really you shouldn't worry, as that's what they are for.

What you're worried about, is has it been driven flat to the floor most of it's life and driven hard on and/or off track. That, no one will ever know buying any used car, unless there are obvious signs. I think by asking the questions in here, you're already concerned about it, and, just IMO, are already leaning more towards no, and if that is the case, maybe you'll always wonder. I know many a company car from colleagues driven like they'd stole it and I'd never like to be the next owner. But I also know many company car owners treat the cars like their own, it just depends on what type of Management owner/driver had it.

If it looks good, is what you want and will be covered for 'X' amount of time that will guarantee you no surprises (bar maintenance of course) then hopefully most fears may be over written.
