We are hoping to run this event at the Fox Hall Inn on the A66 at East Layton (about 5 miles West of Scotch Corner – DL11 7PW).

It is aimed at those who have not shot before or have little experience.

The planned format is as follows:

[ul][*]For those in the North of the region, meet at Washington Services at 8.45 for a 9.00 prompt depart to drive to Fox Hall[*]Bacon sandwiches on arrival at Fox Hall at 10.00am[*]Group session covering general principles and safety, gun handling, eye dominance etc[*]Individual assessment (suitable gun etc) and 10 shots on each of two stands with an instructor[*]A competition shoot – another 10 shots at two different clays (5 pairs).[*]Roast Lunch[/ul]Costs: Shooter (inc. meals) £60 - Meals only £30Please respond to this post or email: foxclays@spamex.com if you are interested. The timings are fairly tight on this, so please respond promptly. We will need to take deposits once we are able to confirm that this is going ahead, so I will supply bank details to anyone sending an email to the above address at that time. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Great Job Gordon,

Really looking forward to this. Please add Deb & myself for lunch and just myself will be shooting.

Thanks again for organising this event.

Hi Gordon,

Glad to say I can participate due to a work pattern change.

About time my luck turned as I have missed about 90% of this years activities.

Myself for lunch and shooting and Michelle for Lunch.

Back in the UK 17th sept so will probably see you at Teeside club night.

Gordon,

I must confess that I never thought I would be doing Clay Pigeon shooting with the Porsche club. Not something I have ever tried but I will give it a go. Can you add me to the list for shooting and lunch, and Michelle just for the lunch.

Gary and Michelle

Please add Philip for the shoot and the lunch and myself for just the lunch.

Thanks

Philip & Jacquie

Afternoon all

Gordon if you could please put Amy & myself on the list please, both to shoot and both to lunch.

Cheers Dave

Hi Gordon,

Please put me down for this, both shooting and lunch. I'll have my valet dust off my Purdy, I'm sure it'll need a light oiling and sight check before a seasons outing, after all we are well past the Glorious 12th. I'm sure those clay's will taste better than the last grouse I bagged, my teeth have never recovered from the shot.

Sir John

That's fine, Sir John, we've put you down. You could probably give your valet the day off as there will be loaders in attendance.

Gordon.

Hi Gordon

if there is still space would also like to join in for both if Possible.

Adam

Hi Adam - and everyone else contributing to this post,

We have decided, reluctantly, to postpone this event to the Spring as we have not attracted sufficient numbers to make it a viable exercise.

I am very sorry about this and would like to thank you all for supporting the event. I do hope that you will all be able to join in in the Spring. We will arrange a date that will hopefully suit the majority.

Thanks again for your support; look forward to seeing you all at other events.

Gordon.

Hi Gordon, it's a pity we can't get the numbers to make it work......I'll have to get my man to iron my Sunday Times instead..... OR we do have the numbers to go for a run anyway ! ....how about just turning it into a run-out starting at Washington services or some other local meet point.......I hesitate to say Newby Hall Cars in the park.....but we could go and find our own venue....??

That’s a shame, but thanks for letting us know. Sorry, but we will have to give the run out a miss

Jacquie & Philip

That’s a shame as I was looking forward to that. Thanks for letting us know.

We are up for a run out as an alternative though.

Gary & Michelle.

Yes, Mike. One of my first thoughts was ‘we’ll have to check Mike’s leave pattern’!

Run out sounds good; can’t think of any events etc. Newby got such awful reviews the last time, Sir John. Anyone got any bright ideas?

Hi All,

I’m suffering from a cold (well, I think it’s probably “man flu”!) so am not going to make it tomorrow night - which is a great pity as I was really looking forward to it. Hope you all have a good evening. I am less than brimming with enthusiasm and ideas for a run out on Sunday - and the forecast is “wet and windy” ....... but don’t let me be a total killjoy! Does anyone have any ideas?
