Value my Cayman S please.

Afternoon,

I'm thinking about possibly selling my 2007 MY Cayman S in meteor grey to fund a 996 Turbo. I can't find a comparable car online anywhere so looking for a bit of price advice please.

It's a 2 previous owner car (one had it from new until 6months before I bought it) and I bought it from Guildford OPC. It's only done 16k and is absolutely like a new Cayman S. I've had it serviced by OPC Byfleet who remarked it drives like a new 987 Cayman and recently by Parr Motorsport who also commented on how well it drives. Spec wise its on 19" Sports Design Wheels with Leather, Bose and PASM. Service History is complete with Guildford OPC before me purchasing the car 3 years ago, then Byfleet and Parr.

Thanks in advance.

I really enjoyed mine that I bought new in 2006

sold 3 yrs later for £27k(48 when new!)

have you looked at similar on autotrader and PH?

i would guess between £15-17k

It's definitely the bargain of the Porsche range at the moment. I have looked and prices vary so much. 30/40k cars are high 19's with the odd one in the 20's for a low mileage low owner car but not seen a low mileage one for a while now. Doubt many have been pampered (but driven) like this one so I'd like to price it correctly.

Mine had done 16k miles when I sold it in 2009 for £27k

if its depreciated only £5-6k in 10 years as you suggest then it really is the bargain Of the range!!!! Amazing

My (almost) 6 years old Cayman GTS, 42k miles, one owner, FPSH has just been valued at £31k by a Porsche dealer against a new Cayman GTS 4.0. What does the team think about the offer?

I've left a deposit on the available 4.0 delivery slot and should get the car before the end of the year - avoiding any extra import tax, hopefully.

Paul,

According to Parker’s that price is about right for a non-optioned 70k mile car with PDK from a dealer, but if you look online prices for both private and dealer cars are all over the place - something like £45k-£55k - so your guess is as good as mine.

I suspect I will opt to give time wasters a miss and accept the dealers offer. I've seen a few in the low £50k range, but mine has been far too enjoyed to be one of them! Fingers crossed for a 2020 delivery still.

I'd say that was a fair offer. My 13k 2016 GTS was bought by my OPC for £42k in March, so a £10k loss for an extra 29k miles sounds (or 5 years average mileage) sounds OK to me...

Thanks Twinfan. That's quite reassuring.

i think it's worth 20k (my 2pence) for a sale all day long, might be able to get more for the right buyer who wants a pristine gen 1 with low mileage.

your spec is desirable!

good luck with the sale
