Service Due Message

Hi,
My 2009 987.2 Boxster has a service due in 12800 miles or 28 days message. Strictly speaking I guess this is correct time wise but the oil and brake fluid were changed when I bought the car in October 2018. Since then the car has done just under 6000 miles. I had planned to have a full service next May/June before going to Le Mans, is there a way of resetting the message or does it have to be done by a dealer/indy. I would be happy to have an oil change as it is a year since the change and a quick look over. All comments would be appreciated

Chris,

I wouldn't have thought it essential to have an oil and filter change after 11-months/6,000 miles - the recommended period is 2-years/20,000 miles - but it's your choice.

Unfortunately you'll need to find somewhere with the appropriate diagnostic software to reset your service warning message. Your local Porsche dealer will be able to do this but a Porsche Independent probably will be able to do it cheaper.

Jeff
