Hi can anyone shed some light on this leak and whether its bad?
It seams to have sweated along the pipe to the turbo sump but is wettest in the area shown.

Hi

The leak looks like its coming from the union (900 915 006 02) to the back of the scavenger pump, this is a separate union attached to the main oil tank return line (996 107 019 72) to scavenger pump and is sealed with an aluminium washer (900 123 106 30), I've just replaced all of my oil lines due to corroded crimps on the flexi’s and had the turbos off and refurbished at the same time, plus plugs and coil packs.

you will need a multi point crow foot to undo the pipe to the union and then union to the block. if you want to undo the pipe and replace the unions and aluminium washers you may need to strip it down to the level I've just been to as the pipe clips for the linking horizontal pipe are nicely up behind the rear engine support plate, removing that has its own challenges so definitely go for trying to tighten very slightly first.

doing what I've done has been a challenge especially as the oil pipe to the O/S turbo reservoir is not presently available from Porsche, which i am still trying to fabricate.

I have lots of pics and info if you pm me your email, check out the 07 PET illustration 104-20

I don’t remember them being copper, I wouldn’t tighten too much though but worth a try to see if it will nip up, if that doesn’t stop the leak I would be tempted to loosen the main oil feed nut some more then see how far the union will undo Without removal of the pipe which you cant do without heat shield, exhaust, engine plate off etc

with the joint undone you may be able to spray and clean between the aluminium washer and pump to get a better seal when you tighten it.
