1986 turbo front discs

I know it was a short lived model but there really doesn't seem to be much choice for that particular brake part. Places like Euro car parts have incorrect listings. It needs to be 298mm dia with a 45mm height. They list the smaller disc or higher center.
Design 911 have the ABS brand for a reasonable price, I've never heard of the them though? They also have more expensive options.
Obviously brakes aren't something to be skimped on but I just want standard brakes.
My current discs are ok wear wise but I think may be giving me a bit of vibration. I can live with it verses £300 on brake discs to possibly not solve the vibration.

Hi James

You can get them from ECP but may need to contact them directly. My son got mine from ECP but had to go through his trade contact to find them. ECP can get parts not listed online. I don't have the part number for the fronts, only the rears which we still haven't found time to fit, my boy is extremely busy since setting up in his new premises.
The details for rears are Make: Sebro (fronts were the same make)
Porsche No. 951 352 041 03
Sebro No. 205804C

Perhaps this may help you find the fronts when talking to them. Beware as ECP also do cheap parts, when talking brake discs they will be much thinner than OEM parts. The Sebro's I got are exactly to spec and have been great, think they have been on the car 3 months or so now.
FYi the pads I have are TEXTAR, I'd never heard of them before but my son's contact said they are the best for the card and after googling it seems that is true, they come out very well in road tests, again these are OEM quality...Not sure on part number, there are two on the box 101 33 01 56 and 2087702. It may be Porsche number followed by TEXTAR..

Please remember all the details are for the rear discs, alas I threw out the front boxes once fitted but these may help you find the fronts...

cheers

Pete

James I would avoid ecp got discs from experience .... give frazer part a call (Max)

and he will sort ypu out with proper disc and pads .. job done

ECP are fine Dan but you need to avoid the cheap options, for most of their parts you'll see different prices, the cheapest will be crap as I noted in my last post above

Pete

Textar, Pagid and ATE were all OEM suppliers to Porsche. Sebro and Zimmerman too. One of the last two painted their bells which then rusted badly, but I cant remember which.

I just checked ECP website, they do have Sebro listed, not sure if the same as what I have. The reason I question this is I cross-referenced the product code number they show for the rears and it's different, they show 104330072, mine have 104330232...no idea why different, note these are internal product codes. The code they show for the fronts is 104330052....
BTW avoid Pagid at all costs, these are not the Pagid of bygone years, Pagid are now owned by ECP and the build quality is crap.

As for price, my son got me all 4 discs. pads and sensors for IIRC £320 inclusive

Pete

That's a great price, I don't need rears thankfully. Thanks for the tip regarding pagid and the part numbers. In my local branch the chap did suggest Sebro but struggled to find discs with the correct dimensions and suggested there may be an error in their listings or my numbers
. I left it to double check my measurements.
I should probably lift the phone more than I do, Frazer part don't have it listed on their site either but I haven't spoken to them.
Porsche part number is 951.351.041.00. being an early offset car.

Yes, definitely check the width, ECP do give specs on their site, just check they match OEM, as I said, cheap discs are usually much thinner and open to warping very quickly

I bought there Pagid discs Pete lasted Around 3 months of driving if I remember and warped horendously all the way down both front discs to the point the car was guddering.

Then i bought Sebro fronts off of them the dearer of the two options they offered me , and Jon Mitchell had my car at the time and was rebuilding my callipers , and I asked him to changed the discs when he put things back together I had these Sebros in the box in the boot. He called Me and told me they were fakes , and to send them back so I bought genuine Pagid I think they were from Max at Frazer part for a few quid more than ecp we’re charging.

Discs and pads still perfect years later

becuase if this experience I would Advise anyone not to use ecp for disc and pads but I can only give my advice through my own personal experience , I for sure would t ever go near them for disc or pads ever again (twice bitten forever shy)

there pagid are chinese ive heard in Pagid boxes as they own the rights to use original Pagid boxes not original Pagid items, hence the rapid warping.

i have genuine pagid discs on the rear that cost me quite a bit some 13 years ago, and to look at them is quite amazing, they still look brand new with no wear whatso ever.

ecp are great for certain things but you must weigh up the odds on spending a bit more from a genuine force if possible ?? I found out the hard way!

As I stated, avoid Pagid at all cost....nothing wrong with Sebro, Zimmerman can have issues, my son won't use them. Trust me he's very picky about the parts he uses on customers cars so you can imagine how he is with mine.

I fitted Textar pads on the front last time, can't remember where they came from, probably CP4LESS. The original price was silly, and even with a big discount they were still around £90 I think. They've never squealed though, unlike the previous pads that sounded like stuck pig under 10 mph.

Thats it Pedro: Sebro are great and Zimmermans bells rust and I bet that this can lead to seating issues and judder.

Next time have a look on ebay I got some textar pads (M030 rear) for £22 -

https://www.ebay.co.uk/it...t-2087702/391887833148

These guys seem to have a lot of OE Porsche parts for great prices.

The front M030 pads are £35 (for Textar) -

And they were genuine parts in a Textar box with the Porsche label on the outside (plus the hologram sticker).

Thanks, will check next time. But the 2nd listing says front and rear, same size?

I've never seen, heard or come across that one.... discs with surface rust cause Judder and cause seating issues ???

All bare iron discs will have some surface rust, it's only in rent years when wheels and calipers have become more pretty
that cosmetically owners don't like the brown rusk on the disc centres that some manufacturers have started painting them...
