Spoiler was up yesterday, won't operate today

Afternoon,
The C4S went for an MOT yesterday, and as I got the car out of the garage, when I went to shut the garage door, the spoiler was raised (odd, as I keep it down). Now, it is possible, that, as I had the hood down in the garage and entered the car without opening the door (some idiot left a box there so the door couldn't open) that I pressed the raise button as I lowered myself into the driver seat, with my right foot.

I cant at this stage remember if I lowered it manually or just drove off to the MOT (I was more worried about getting the hood up, as it was raining). Pretty sure when I parked up, spoiler was down, as on pre-car inspection, it wasn't raised.

Didn't know if it worked on way home, as you cant see it when driving and tbh, with the weather as it was, and the national speed limit of course, not sure I got to 74 on the way home anyway

Went to clean the car today and upon making sure I clean properly, and also dont leave wet on the car in the garage, went to operate the spoiler to wipe and dry, and it wouldnt open. I have no faults on the dash or lights etc.

Is there an easy way to check for any possible causes? Also, don't really want to have someone follow me and test getting to 74mph to see if it works automatically without testing some basics first (which I assume is the fuse?). Did a web search and lots of talk of hydraulics failing, but that would give dash errors, from what I understand.

Thanks in advance

Mark

Hi, I'm sure the spoiler on yours is electric motor driven. As far as I'm aware it's only the Turbo and GT that has the hydraulic Rams. I would look for fuse or maybe stuck microswitch
I'm sure Richard will be along to give you direction on how to check

Does the spoiler light stay on after start-up on the dash? This would indicate an issue if it does not go out after pulling away. If you can manually raise and lower then the motor is ok. I would check micro switches up and down. You should just about see the edge of the spoiler in raised position whilst driving.

Okay, no lights on the dash, after starting. But, manually on Sunday, it was working again. So, no idea what was up with it.

Will keep an eye on it. Any chance water may have been an issue after washing? Although, never been an issue before, and also, got rained on alot on Sunday morning. Who knows! Gremlins :)
