Hi, I am new to Porsche and forums, looking for a bit of advice / pointing in the right direction regarding the following-

  • Sunblind motors seem to shut blind ok but when the blind is opened the blind itself doesn't fully go into the holder, causing fabric to sag. Is there an easy fix to this? does it need calibrating/ tensioning in someway?
  • The targa roof is a little slow, i read this should take about 7 seconds , mine is just over 10, I also read not to oil/ lubricate it, ( not sure what to oil anyway!) there appears to be no other faults, motors are quite and roof fits perfectly and no leaks, didnt know if worth just leaving or again any suggestions?
Cheers

Hi Simon,
There's a thread on the 911uk.com forum with some information about 997 Targa roof mechanisms...
http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=116450
I read there also that they are slow and not to lubricate them. The person commenting in that thread seems to have a lot of specific knowledge, so may be worth asking there too.

Hi Simon and welcome!
I also have a 997 Targa 4S with roof issues. I'm quite capable of working on cars and will be looking at repairing this myself.
I'm happy to speak privately with you to discuss and share ideas if you want.
my number is: 07470009401
Best regards,
Kul
