Not for the first time Maria and I, but this time along with our Friends Trevor and Nic have just had a R20 stylee - long weekend - in Shropshire, staying at the Castle Inn in Bishops Castle. Great place to stay with a car park, very nice rooms along with good food and drink. Bishops Castle is well situated for access to North and South Wales with really nice roads in good condition and endless bends and twists. A short drive and your away from the hills and up in the Mountains, such as Horse shoe pass and the evo triangle.
From the Ponderosa Cafe in Horse shoe pass drop down to the A5 and down past the lake at Bala from there, down the A487 valley at the seaside with Borth and Aberystwyth close by, its then a short hall back to the hotel along the A44. Back to the Hotel for a wide variety of very good food and drink.

It's a curious village, with houses decorated externally a brewery and pubs with good beer and entertainment at the weekend.

Managed to have a brake light failure - which we fixed
We had a pair of walkie talkies between the two cars - very R20

Weather was good, except at the seaside where it was only 15c (London was 32c same day) in land about 5 miles and it was back in high 20's

All in all a great weekend in the spirit of R20.

Ian.
